Jim W, as per all the previous comments, you've been the real face of Vectorworks - not the marketing spin one, but the one that gives some hope that anyone's listening to us, and while I don't know if anyone can quite fill your shoes, you've set some exemplary foundations for engagement, including but not limited to these forums, that I'm sure will continue to have an impact well into the future. Thanks for your openness, understanding and patience over the years, and you've no doubt earned yourself some time to focus on other things. Hopefully this will not entirely be the end of your involvement here.

 

Some jokes above about people moving to other software as a result of Jim W's departure... hey, VW management, if you're reading this, there might just be a grain of truth in there, so I hope you appreciate what he's done here, and are going to make sure his good work doesn't get undone.

Man... coming in late.  Where have I been to not have seen this?  I am sad to see you go @Jim W but I wish you all the best with your new endeavors.  Family is so important and it makes me glad to see that you see it as important as well, as well as many others.  Kind feels like a big hole has been left wide open.  Who will fill it? I appreciated the grace, wit, enthusiasm and professionalism that you brought here to the forum as well as a good handle on the product that is VW and guiding us all through the inner workings to get the most out of it.

I do share the same sentiment as all of you. Not only do I appreciate the incredible job done by Jim here in the community board all these years, I also agree there will be big shoes to fill. I’ve been working with Jim since 2007, he was actually my first hire. We started a journey together that brought us until now with many good times.  There have been great conversations throughout the years, and even though I have not posted much in the forums in the past, I read many of your comments, suggestions, “complaints,” wishes, and we have been working with an internal team to keep advocating for all of our users. My commitment remains the same, I’m here for you all, and l have an experienced group of trainers and technical support specialist on the customer success team who will collectively fill in where Jim left off.  If you have any suggestions, do not hesitate to PM or email me.

Thank you so much for all your help.  While I come from some past exposure to drafting, this was the first CAD software I'd ever touched, and in just over a year you have been instrumental in getting me up to speed such that VW has become a very important part of my company's work flow.  Sorry to see you go, but we all should also take a lesson from your example of quality of life above work.
