Hi Mike! I usually start by slicing the model very thinly at 2 or 3 feet intervals for all the floors of a point cloud and saving views for the Floorplans, and also several slices for sections And try to find averages between corners of rooms, because the point cloud will have a ton of points and they are not like perfectly aligned in straight lines A good software for extracting lines from point clouds is PointCab, it's a little expensive if you do a couple of point clouds a year, it's a cross-platform software and great for point clouds

You will need to use several NURBS curves to achieve that or a play with subdivision modeling

Sadly for the underside of the stairs, I find myself doing some acrobatics too if there is a lot of space between the underside and the actual stair structure Usually, I leave that part for the CD set, in DD sets I use 2D linework in sections until the design has been ironed out When, if, the design moves forward then I'll play with Roof faces and wall components to even obtain schedules and BOM

Is better to not use the railings built on the stairs, I had better results using the new Railing tool in 2024, you can control better how different flights of railing connect to each other

IFC with georefereced geometry fails to export correctly
Diego - Resuelvector posted a question in Troubleshooting
Greetings, I have a Vectorworks model and it is georeferenced but the moment I export the file to IFC the georeference information gets lost, even if in the Site Data the Reference Latitud and Logitud are displayed correctly What other settings must I check to ensure a proper georeferenced export from Vectorworks 2023? -
Hi @Pat Stanford, did you manage to fix this issue? I have the same problem

Creating a skylight schedule/ data tags.
Diego - Resuelvector replied to jtempleton's topic in Architecture
For Skylights, the only way is create a Custom Record and a Custom Tag to show the desired info -
I hope there will be an option to access this plug-in through the Partner Products portal, is in german, but the plug-in does some amazing stuff

1.The section fill is controlled by the Section Style Class, changing it you can show different fills/hatches , etc 2. Are you creating a horizontal Section Viewport or a regular 2D plan?

Export 3d symbols from vectorworks in IFC
Diego - Resuelvector replied to riccardo mazzoleni's topic in General Discussion
You need to assign a IFC definition to the symbols, even generic IFC definition will be enough, otherwise the objects will not be recognized by the IFC softwares
