This actually sounds like more of a snapping issue - have you checked your snapping palette to see that you have the correct modes turned on?

Would there be something in your operating system that might help?

Im a recent quad amputee, using open bionic arm and stylus to draft. When going to use interactive zoom i have to hold right mouse click down while using track pad. This is impossible in my set up. I was looking to use a hoy key on keyboard to do this. I looked all over preferences and couldn't change the hold right click. Is this possible? If so how?? Thanks

A lot of these cases have been resolved but, if you see the issue happen again in 2024 Update 4.1, please let us know and include a file with the issue if you can.

I have used this method over the years to quickly resize objects of a similar size. It takes a little time up front and you have to do the math yourself, but gives you a lot of flexibility. It is all done with EAP, but the profile object needs to be adjusted to sit inside the frame and window frame. The path is centred on the grilles.

Pat, The signature is correct. I am waiting til 2025. In VW 2019 unless I am missing it, the specialized functions for walls does not exist. Another reason to upgrade.

Here's how to replace the hook. I didn't try changing the hook symbol name after I edited it. let me know if changing the name will still associate the hook with a different hoist. If it doesn't, I'll inquire further. ReplaceHook.mp4

Hi Peter, I was intrigued by this and played around for a while. Apparently, truss crosses can only have one location where the truss meets in Vectorworks 2024. When I changed the tool to insert a drop instead of a truss cross, it worked once I had a proper offset. I had to change the minimum length for the down leg in the bridle preferences to one mm before using the tool. Here's a video I made to explain the process to our programmers. You can skip to after 2:30 to see success. insertdropparalelltruss.mp4 I'm submitting a request to allow multiple trust crosses so that the lower truss does not need to shift down at all. However, we would expect it to shift to account for the spacing of the coupling device.

Hey Scott, Is there a way to duplicate the hook and have a particular hoist use that hook as opposed to the default nested hook?

@Djmanwild Is your selection issue to simply select ? - as in draw another shape and select the end point of a line as one of the points on the new object... or Is your selection issue to select the end point and resize that line from the end point ? Peter

Hi Peter, Yes, my truss were directly from the VW libraries. I confess I didn't seek out the same truss you used from our library during testing. The truss in the drawing you shared has had some custom changes made and I didn't want to mess with them. All truss in the VW library *should* be able to have some braceworks calculations applied. When we have the structural info from manufacturers, we get more info about flexibility. When we don't, we treat them as static systems. Hence the Grey and Green results. I'm not sure what you're asking here. I made frames, and they worked.

It's still not flawless moving from Vectorworks into Twinmotion, which has sync and support from both vendors, yet fails on many fronts. It's getting better, but still...

You should be able to do this by setting the criteria to 'type is NURBS curve' and then selecting 'Function-Objects General-Length' in the columns section.

Closures occassionaly deciding not to show / wall components randomly disappearing / internal and external views not showing components etc.

Can the record pull the lengths of 3d objects, like nurbs curves? The record can't, you might be able to map the length field to a record field using the data manager but I am not sure how to set this up.

Although having said that it would be great if you had an option to interactively resize Data Tag text the way you can with Callouts... The way it works now is you need multiple Tag styles set up with different width text boxes + switch between them depending on how wide you want the text in the drawing to be. At least that's the only way I know to do it.

Switch to Data Tags. You can then include any data you like and have control over the layout.

@Scott C. Parker Hi, I'm assuming both the Tomcat as the Christie symbols are from the VW library? Are you therefore saying some trusses from the library can be calculated, and some can't? And why does it work with a "normal" truss length, but not with a frame?
