  2. A problem may be in how the curves were created. This can be an issue. The curves have to be matched to some degree. I gather you want to make the shape indicated and have it hollowed out. If you want to, please post the two curves you have constructed. I can have a look tomorrow.

  4. For Hidden Line you'll probably want to adjust the Smoothing Angle as well, which defaults to 1° I believe, but that's unusably low since it shows all facets. To adjust it for a viewport, click on Background Render Settings (Or Foreground Render Settings, whichever is your Hidden Line), then set the Smoothing Angle higher. I start with 30° as a default then go from there. It sounds like you perhaps have both foreground and background set to Hidden Line. You don't need both. Just set the Foreground Render to None and work with Background Render only. (Or, set background to Shaded and set foreground to Hidden Line).
  5. set your render mode for the viewport to Shaded or Artistic Renderworks, then adjust the settings for the render mode to get your desired result. Here's Hidden Vs Shaded Vs Artistic In case you don't know... Don't forget to update your viewport each time you make a change so it re-renders the window. That's what those red candy cane stripes around the viewport are telling you.
  6. In the configuration of each door, you can indicate the name of the space in one of the user fields of the Data item. Instead of getpacenameforobject, use the formula =('Door'.'UserFld1'), for field 1.

  8. For anyone else that might find this thread: Seeing as this problem persists no matter the version of Vectorworks, the cause is most likely the file itself or a condition within it. (It is noteworthy that it doesn't occur on Mac, but a difference in computational efficiency or a difference in the software dependencies engaged might account for this). I suggest you check for far out objects in the file. It could be due to a corrupt object as well, but they're harder to isolate. You'll find instructions here:
  9. VW does not officially monitor & reply to the forum. For better or worse, the forum is primarily for users to interact with each other. Some VW employees do take the time to comment. You can reach out to VW tech support and/or bug submission directly, although response there is not always great (see other forum threads). Agree.
  10. Yes, but I couldn't "Closed" it. The Close button would not stay ticked even though it was not greyed. The loft created multiple Nurbs and grouped them. It did not merge them into one solid/surface as I was expecting.
  11. Hi I am a rookie of student VW version. I create a viewpoint with foreground and background in hidden line style. But it will show the surface line of path and site. Is there any way I could set its render style like the SketchUp style, which only shows the edge of the object, not show the 3D triangle in the viewport? Thank you
  12. Hi @Elite Exhibits, I'm not sure what you mean by whether "a crop object [was] on the design layer when the viewport was selected". Can you clarify? Here is how the viewport was created. I tried setting the viewport to your specifications in the OIP and hitting update but nothing changes.
  13. Sure it is better. I don’t manage to do that with the Redshift exterior finall render style. How do I make a "native RS material" ?
  14. I'm using symbols from the Vectorworks fixture library, this happens with any symbol. It seems that Vectorworks is only designed so that we can make assemblies observable in the TOP view. I'm probably missing something here. I don't know of a practical and easy way to solve this problem, I've even contacted support and haven't been able to get any effective help. What I have been using is the Wireframe or Shaded view, but schematically it is not something so simple or that it looks so beautiful in the document to specify this. So could you explain to me these methods for representing instruments hung on booms? Thank you very much. 15. I change the render style to redshift exterior final to make a fair comparison between RS and Final Quality Renderworks, This is the rendering if I change to native RS material, with exactly the same parameters from the Edit Metallic Shader Dialog, can this be consider better?
  16. Interesting - maybe try dropping your file in the 'Audio Controls' folder in your Workgroup>Entertainment and see what happens.
  17. It would also be nice to have the dashed line attributes put back in the Attributes palette instead of the over-worked Resources Palette. It makes sense since all of the other line adjustments are in the Attributes palette. It was far easier to manipulate dashed lines when this was the case. MH Brown
  18. I have it in the root of the Entertainment Folder. No subfolder. I feel like that's probably what I'm experiencing, is that I can't see them in the OIP picker.
  19. I'm trying to create a floor plan view with a way to show the labels of network ports at wall patch locations. It seems the Cable List from a Cable Path object is going to be the simplest way to accomplish this. I've tried this and it doesn't seem to work when using the Edit Cabling Command. It only seems to work when using the Cabling Tool. Is there a way to have this data tag field also work with the edit cabling command or is it only able to be used with the cabling tool?
  20. i came to the conclusion that it is faster to redraw the whole modifier when "big" changes are needed. wich is a real pity... could be the best and most useable modifier ever for me, but for now I stick with the "old" modifiers (and my Marionette Objects that do kind of similar things...) just because of the poor changeability options. But I am curious to read how other people work with this tool!
  21. Does VW still monitor this forum & reply to comments? It would be helpful if someone from within the company could chime in with an explanation/solution.
  22. @Nikolay Zhelyazkov if I edit the names of the Sheet Size Names in the TBM (change 'ISO A1' to 'A1' for example), does this get migrated to new VW versions or do I need to edit it again each time I upgrade? Thanks.
  23. I understand how to edit the path outline (reshape tool) Longitudinal profile (OIP (or down arrow on end of path - from top/plan view only)/Longitudinal profile/edit profile/View/zoom/fit to object/Navigation-classes/class option:show snap others) Transverse profile (OIP/transverse profile/edit profile) ...but how do I edit the location of the center of the path? In this case (see image) I edited the "border" path and made the path more of a straight line, but the center stayed like I had initially drawn it, with a jog in the middle. It seems to be fine now - but had me thinking that if I had edited the "border" path any more, the center might not have even been within it's boundary.
  24. Let's all meet Kevin in Tahiti for a drink. I'll buy the first round.🌴🍹
  25. Paul...hahahaha....too funny. Not to worry...
  26. Yes, to the local bar, that's where I go all the time.....works wonders.😀. Your advice is valuable.
