  2. Label is controlled from the object properties, using a combination of the text style dropdown and the classes button, these are found in the shape pane of the OIP.
  3. Hello @Nikolay Zhelyazkov Thank you for your reply. I think my issue with the Equipment Item tool is that it doesn't seem to work the way it should. If I use the Create Equipment menu command it works as expected but if I use the Equipment Item tool and drag it over an existing spotlight device such as a speaker from the library (the device turns red), I would expect the equipment item to inherit its data from the device that it just got connected to. Instead, all the data is in the equipment item is blank. All the data is in the spotlight device (make, model, dimensions, wattage, etc..) so why is that not getting linked automatically? I guess the part that doesn't make sense to me is that if the route is 89ft and the chosen cable is 50ft then this should get flagged when you run the Analyse Cable Routes or Calculate Cable Length menu commands to let you know that some of the chosen cables are too short for the route. It doesn't take the slack into consideration when I run Calculate Cable Length and the overall length of cables remains the same whether I build some slack in the Drop Points or not. I've tried setting the slack to 100ft for each of the Drop Points in the sample file which should add 400ft to the cable length but it doesn't change the length. Shouldn't the report default to not summarize the cables since this is labeled as a Cable Pull Report? Is this being worked on or still at the wishlist state? It would seem like the obvious thing to do since ConnectCAD is to make processes easier. Without being able to access all entertainment symbols it add time consuming steps to the process which are not necessary.
  4. Hi averybody, since a while my floating palettes does not refresh completely when I resize them (see screenshot): When I resize them again or I pass over with mouse they complete to be redrawn. I use three monitor (1920x1080) on a RTX2080 8gb VRam 64gb Ram, Windows 11. I keep all palettes open on one monitor. Any clue about how to avoid this to happen? Thank you, Davide

  6. Yes, that does get much closer. The engine has interesting ideas about cricket. Prompt "group of highschool students playing cricket over a solid white background. "
  7. Hello everybody, Are you also experiencing problems with the new version of MAC OS Sonoma 14.5? Since I installed it, I've had display latencies on Vectorworks 2024 SP4. Do you have the same problem? Have a nice day
  8. I finally filed a bug about this a couple of months back but not had a response yet... VB-202892
  9. So... in a following project... this seems to not work as the orthophoto and the pointcloud are NOT exactly the same. They cover a different area so the midpoint of both objects is not the same... Back to square one... no good way to georeference a pointcloud.
  10. Hi, if you still got Vectorworks 2008 I will be more than happy to take it. I live in London - can collect it as well if it is within hour drive? M
  11. Hello @Oaktown, - When you link an equipment item to a device then the equipment item becomes the data source and its data is used. If you want to create an equipment item from a device using the device data you should use the Create Equipment menu command. - If you talk about the circuit cable length parameter, if you choose something different than Auto then this is the total length that you specify and it will not be related in any way to any physical representation of the circuit. - If your circuits have auto cable length selected then when you run Calculate Cable Lengths menu command the slacks will be taken into account and the circuit lengths will update to reflect this. - The cable pull report is configure to group the reported circuits together if they share the same physical route. You can deselect this by clicking on the row 2 column F in your report and deselecting Summarize Items as shown in the picture below. Let me know if this got you what you expect. - We already have a wish to include all entertainment symbols for the equipment item and we are considering it. For now, what you have described is the way to go. Let me know if you have any other questions. Best Regards, Nikolay Zhelyazkov
  12. My attempt below (sped up x2) about 30mins sped up to 12mins. - Started by sketching out overhang widths, then hip lines - Was a bit confused by profile ratios but i think i got it to be as close to yours as I've decipher (rise/run, 18/12, etc). But wasn't sure what the eaves are doing, I believe they're changing pitch to match other roof of differnet pitch - Got stuck at right side where ridge heights differ 😂 If you could send through your model, I could maybe have a better understanding of the roof changes. I'm thinking they 'could' be all achieved by using roof faces, but not holding my breath. - Hopefully you can see in my screengrab that the connect/combine tool is quite apt and easily used once you get the hang of it. video is about 12mins! you can skip through. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ehIEb3QhnjsxZ01W6gAXnqyebCvZ7rXB/view?usp=sharing
  13. Are you sure you have a Grade Limits + it is on a layer that the Site Model recognises? Your sunken Path should have sloping sides if a Grade Limits is present.
  14. Hello we are actively seeking Sydney based Architects and building designers to join are team. we are a modular building company with a large client base ranging from government to the luxury hospitality sector. We require people with a strong understanding of Vectorworks to help assist the team in delivering some of Australia's most exciting projects. please feel free to drop me a message.
  15. Yes. What you are showing should work.
  16. If you're trying to use the pathway mode of the site modifier tool, you'll have to add and edit a transverse profile in order to have sloping sides. The transverse profile is greyed out, until you click add profile in the OIP + click to add the profile. Once you edit the profile, you'll have to add vertices and reshape as desired. You can have multiple transverse profiles in one pathway. For another method, any type of swale or ditch can be created with the roadway tool quite easily. I always use a separate grade limits rather than the grade limits assigned directly within the tool. The ditch below slopes from -6" to -2' or more with a 2D rectangle at -9" to represent the water level.
  17. Is it possible just subtract a number of a variable on the data tag field? I want to make this: Or in fact, I want the Total Weight of all Instruments on a truss without the truss weight. If it can be dynamic will be perfect!
  18. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. When I am inside of a group in a large file then there is significant lag. The lag makes it difficult to scroll and zoom etc. The lag only exists if I have "show other object in editing modes" turned on. It seems to be on Windows and not on Mac. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a new high spec laptop with latest drivers etc. It doesn't seem to matter which Vectorworks year I'm using, even legacy versions have this issue. Thanks
  19. Positive Prompt: Image of a single isolated red rose bush on a solid white background. Photorealistic image. flat solid color background Negative Prompt: background lighting Creativity:49
  20. A positive prompt of "Over a plain white background" should get your something relatively easy to crop the background from.
  21. Surely, any thoughtful discussion of AI now must include recent events of ChatGPT literally stealing someone's voice. I'd think they bet the farm and have lost with the hubris of such a move.
  22. Is there a standard prompt that will isolate the "subject" from the background like an image that would be then useful for image props? Negative prompt - Background also variations of the positive prompt "remove background" have no effect.
  23. Then you probably don't want the Layer criteria. My guess (and I have not tried to mock this up) is that it is looking for object on the Sheet Layer that are also inside LOWERGROUND1. There may be object in the viewport that match the criteria, but those object are not on the Sheet Layer.
  24. Good questions Pat, PP_LG_1 is a sheet layer. LOWERGROUND1 is also on the sheet layer. My assumption is the criteria will see the viewport and work its contents out from there. So the schedule and viewport are all on sheet layer. But maybe this is not the way to do it?
  25. Just an idea: How about using VP Styles for this ? Any custom settings of the scale can then be recalled with the style ? HTH.

  27. Putting an answer here for anyone else running in to the same "issue." Redshift needs a higher fog density than RW renders, so all I needed to do was increase the fog density. What also helped was setting spotlight instrument light settings to realistic falloff.
  28. @klinzey Totally get it... we have symbols and cross sections of truss that don't exist in VW yet. We are programming and sharing across the nation. I created a cross section to function with the symbols until they are created.
