fuberator
Hi [I posted this in the wrong thread, moving it here] In spotlight, the lit fog light beams from all fixtures shine through objects like extrudes, walls and slabs. I have tried all manner of textures and shadow settings, but I can not seem to stop the beams from shining through. Grateful for any ideas 1 Quote Link to comment

Kevin Allen
I have had this issue, I forget how I fixed it. @markdd? @MrTemplate? Quote Link to comment
markdd
I reported this as bug about a month ago. Hopefully it will get some love soon! 2 Quote Link to comment
JBenghiat
I believe this is only in shaded renders. Lit fog basically ignores shadow-casting objects. Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted November 7, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 7, 2022 Hello: Shaded does not shadow lit fog, the Receive Options setting for lit fog does not affect Shaded render mode. This is a limitation of the implementation. 1 Quote Link to comment

Sure hoping this 2023. Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted November 9, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 9, 2022 Hello: We may be able to enable receive shadows for lit fog in Shaded, but it is not certain. This was implemented but then disabled due to crashing on some computers. The team will revisit this limitation. We totally understand the need for it, so that your renderings look correct. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
