  3. This represents a huge amount of work from the Customer Success Team in the US, and is just the start of a very exciting project. Well done to all involved, and thanks for creating such a great platform.
  4. Good point - didn't go far enough with my explanation, sorry! Unchecking the box will stop any green boxes being created in future. Thanks Juan! (The green boxes can be useful to help you create a key plan if you have many cropped viewports of a large site. That's what they are for.)
  5. When you double-click a viewport and choose to go to a design layer, you have the box checked to Add a Reference Crop Object. Uncheck that, and it won't create the green rectangle.
  6. If you run Tools > Origin > Center Drawing on Internal Origin instead of moving the geometry, it will move to internal 0, but will retain the original coordinate system. Viewports will still work too! This is useful of you are collaborating with others and the coordinates are important.
  7. After deleting far away objects, try running Tools > Origin > Center Drawing on Internal Origin and then click OK.
  8. The criteria for selection and visualization is much expanded too - not just looking for record data.
  9. HI Lisa How about File > Batch Convert? You can point it to a folder, and then the output will go to a folder you specify, or you can convert in place (only if you have a really good backup strategy!)
  10. No... it's a diagrammatic explanation of the functionality I'm afraid. To get through the history of a chamfer, shell, and fillet just double-click as you would before with other solid operations. This will take you through the history right back to the original poly that created the extrude. In addition, if you select a Fillet, Chamfer, or Shell you have the Modify button with which you can change what you've applied to the object.
  11. The trick here is to use environment lighting for reflections, but a different background is displayed in the model. If you look at the glazing, you can see the reflection of the warm sunny light that is introduced with the Physical Sky Mostly Sunny, while on the Background tab, it's using the Physical Sky for reflections and a plain grey for display.
  12. This definitely looks like a graphics card issue. Go to the graphics card manager software and ensure that Vectorworks 2019 and Vectorworks 2020 are listed in the programs list. Also ensure that the high performance card is NOT set to Auto-select but is set to use the high performance card all the time. Regarding problem 2, try View > Unified View.
  13. @lisagravy If you want to upload the file to Vectorworks Cloud Services, you are welcome to send me a link to it, along with Bryan. We'll work on it together from both sides of the Atlantic!
  14. Hi Mike The bug is what happens when you recall a set of saved units (in metric) in a file that was previously imperial. The resulting dimensions, units and rulers are displayed with the feet unit marker. (e.g. 3'4mm instead of 34mm). Of course, the workaround is simply to save your desired unit settings in a template, so that you don't need to recall saved unit settings. Start each project from your own template and you won't have the problem. Update - I have just had a notification that this bug will be resolved in SP2.
  15. Hi Lisa Yes, these new features are very exciting! When you select the 27700 EPSG code (presume you are looking at File > Document Settings > Georeferencing), you can indeed enter the coordinates that you want to use for the Internal origin. However, as your drawing is already centered, instead, you can use the new Geolocate tool to click on the point on the drawing which you would like to use as the internal origin. This will update the files in the Georeferencing dialog for you with the coordinates of your click point.
  16. It's such a shame we weren't able to include the Retro-encapulator though. 😂
  17. Andrew, I've just tested your workflow above and I am able to reproduce it. I will file a bug report immediately. Of course, the workaround described by Mike is to create a template that already has the unit settings you desire, and start your new documents from this file. This is the method I have always used, so I'm afraid this was not caught in my personal testing. But we will get it to the engineers today.
  18. It's one of my fave features Andrew. Of course, we've had Data Vis for some time on Viewports, but to have it available in the live design environment vastly increases its use - not just for presentation, but as a design aid, for troubleshooting and more. And I love the key that's auto-generated.
  19. You can change the unit of measure for length, area, volume and angles using the following command: File > Document Settings > Units.
  20. If you delete the reference (on the Navigation palette's References tab), you will be offered the opportunity to import the geometry at that point.
  21. Hi Katharine If you are able to login to the student portal, you are almost there. If the portal is asking you to update your account, it's because some of the fields are blank, Enter some information where it is asking for phone numbers and extension numbers (these fields have become mandatory somehow along the line), and then you will be able to save the details. After that's done, you'll be able to request the extension of your licence.
