Yes, I wrote that part in the wrong order, yet the whole post I wrote still has the point of my message.

I really don’t understood the complaints that Vectorworks isn’t compatible with the latest OS right out of the gate. I think Jim has explained it well every year that they never know how Vectorworks will perform until Apple releases the public release of thei OS. I for one would never install the latest OS on my work dependant machine until I knew all the kinks were worked out with ALL applications I depend on to do my daily professional work. Demanding Vectorworks make their in beta application work with an in beta OS seems ridiculous. I’d rather Vectorworks work in the current OS and be able to do my job. Patience, the OS will become compatible with Vectorworks. Rob

to renew or not to renew (that is the question)
rgcn replied to Phil hunt's topic in General Discussion
@michael john williams Are you using 2015 as per your signature, or are you currently running 2018? As there have been significant improvements since 2015. Also, if you have been watching the teaser tuesday info by JimW? You will see that they are indeed working on performance within 2019. Rob -
@Matt Panzer This is a fantastic little tweak! I have always wanted to adjust nudging on the fly. Thank you! Rob

This is fantastic. I've spent too much time just sliding the door open and closed 🙂 Now the next step is to get this barn door to be scheduled. When I made my own barn doors, just a 2D / 3D symbol I would have to create a cased opening. Of course on the door schedule generated within Vectorworks, the barn door I made is labeled as a "cased opening" Rob

If an uninstaller is missing, what is the best way to uninstall 2018 on a mac? Can someone share the uninstaller from another mac? Rob

Thanks for the clear explanation Pat, this is very helpful. Rob

So very much looking forward to this! I'm very happy that its moved a bit westward. Rob

Very nice work @Zeno! keep up the good work, and keep pushing your renderings further. It will pay off! Rob

I followed the technique demonstrated by affinity photo here to create my own seamless textures. I'm sure the same technique works for photoshop, but I prefer using Affinity Photo. https://vimeo.com/134838293 After you finish the texture, you can create a bump map of the image to give it some more realism. I would love for @Jonathan Pickupto chime in, since he uses both Mac and Windows. I am uncertain which he uses more, although I know he uses his windows machine for his webinars. Rob

@AndySmithArchI have seen this issue quite a few times, and every time I have suggested using design layer referencing. It takes a little bit of mind shift to use this method, but in the long run it will save you a ton of headaches. Rob

I have run into this problem today. I see if I export to 2017, the skylight shows up in elevations, and sections. Rob

Twinmotion Plugin + Sync
rgcn replied to Tom Klaber's question in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests
I have used Artlantis with some renderings, but mostly use Renderworks. It looks as though Abvent may be concentrating more on Twinmotion over Artlantis, but I could be wrong in speculating. I am happy to see it has come to mac and after these great little videos you posted, I am going to dive into the demo as well. Rob -
Oh wow! That would come in handy for the multiple clients I do work for! Thanks for the link, and yes Vectorworks needs this out of the box Rob

This is going to be another great feature to help convince people to upgrade to 2018 from older versions. Rob

folding door tool
rgcn replied to Cadplan Architecture's question in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests
I have had to make many work arounds to get these types of doors into my BIM models. These doors inevitably change in size and configuration during design and costing that it becomes a bit of a challenge to change on the fly when it needs to be. The doors are very desirable in many large custom homes. Rob -
Detail Callout Auto-Coordination and sheet number
rgcn replied to Josie B's topic in General Discussion
I am finding on more and more projects, that contractors and subs wish that details would show where they originate. The back referencing would be a very beneficial option for both the people working on the file and the people building the project. The more information you can provide to the team, the more efficient the project will go. Rob -
Preview: interiorcad 2018 supporting Marionette integration
rgcn replied to Stephan Moenninghoff's topic in Marionette
That is pretty cool, will make populating shelves in renderings easy! Rob -
I really appreciate reading your experience over the last few versions of Interiorcad. I am a new user and only have experience with 2017. I have been working with clients that need shaker doors on their cabinets, so I have to do a work around to achieve that. Rob
