bcd
I would like a 2d mode for the push pull tool (perhaps also 3d where possible). 1 Quote Link to comment
0 mike m oz
A 2d Push Pull mode like you show would be a very useful addition to the existing 1d Push Pull mode that you show. Can you illustrate what you mean by 3d Push Pull mode. Quote Link to comment
0 Kevin McAllister
This would be great. I think 1d Push Pull is more like Extrude whereas 2d Push Pull is more like Push/Pull..... I think I wished for something similar with Sweeps, where they would have handles like extrudes do when using the Reshape tool. KM Quote Link to comment
0 mike m oz
The existing Push Pull capability (Model toolset) does the extrude mode like bcd's 1d Push Pull mode shows. Quote Link to comment

Ha, yes. I was referring more to how its described in other software. In Rhino for example, 1d would be considered an extrude, even from an existing object. 2d is more like extrude along a curve. 0 bcd
This will work where the underlying curve is mathematically defined. 1 Quote Link to comment

Its like how Extend NURBS works using the "Smooth Extension" option only this is for solids geometry instead. (I always wanted the same functionality for extending 2d curves and 3d geometry.) 0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted July 6, 2017 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 6, 2017 I think CALLING it "2D Push Pull" is a bad idea, as we have troubles with explaining the differences between 2D/3D/screen plane/layer plane as it is (Rhino can get away with that since they have more clearly defined rules for 1D, 2D and 3D terminology), but this functionality is an excellent idea and I'm totally on board. 0 bcd
maybe call it 1 directional, 2 directional & 3 directional, although I think people would quickly get the idea. Edited July 6, 2017 by bcd 1 Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
I would be even happy if the PPT could accept to manipulate the round face of a Cylinder or cutouts of Slabs and Extrudes made from a Cylinder. Quote Link to comment

Agreed, its a strange thing to describe in words but once a person sees it in action it makes perfect sense. Quote Link to comment
0 Andy Broomell
This seems tangentially related to something I wished for here: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/45381-reshape-tool-should-function-better-with-arc-segments/ Quote Link to comment
