  1. @Chuck97 as @michaelk says, if you can share the source data file, we will be able to get a better idea of what is causing the issue. If you imported older workspaces, please try on a new workspace, and check that the internal origin is not far from the 0,0 coordinate.
  2. @GatRed if you can send me the file to jalmansa@vectorworks.net I can pass it to our QA team for additional troubleshooting - thanks

    Redshift - FAQ

What is Redshift? Redshift is a GPU-accelerated render mode that speeds up rendering time without sacrificing quality. Redshift employs features like lighting, reflections, volumetric effects such as lit fog, camera effects, and anti-aliasing, which removes the jagged effect observed along straight edges. Redshift in Vectorworks 2023 also includes CPU support for computers with marginal GPUs, greatly expanding the availability of Redshift rendering. When and why should I use Redshift? Use Redshift when producing feature-rich, high-quality renderings that use blurry reflections, soft shadows, depth of field, fine details in global illumination, and/or anti-aliasing. Rendering time is greatly reduced for these features in Redshift and it can produce a higher quality rendering than Renderworks render modes. What are the current limitations to using Redshift in Vectorworks 2023? Textures that use Grass Shader, Displacement Mapping (bump texture), or Caustics (how light gets reflected or refracted from a curved surface such as water or glass and projected onto a surface where they can be visualized) are currently not supported. Parallax bumps, which give textures such as brick more apparent depth, are currently not supported. Anisotropic metal (brushed, turned) will render with roughness but without directional scratches. Area lights and Line lights are currently not supported. The Use Emitter physical brightness option is currently not supported. Custom lights (IES lights) are supported but the “From User Input” sub-option is not supported. Brightness is always “From Distribution File”. Redshift renderings will be processed sequentially and automatically, one at a time. You currently can’t set different backgrounds for environmental reflections. Lighting and background can be independent, but reflections only come from a visible background. Tech Tips All lights should be set to cast shadows. Lights that don’t cast shadows will blow out, or overexpose, the scenes in Redshift renderings. What are the system requirements for using Redshift? Minimum Requirements for Redshift using CPU only macOS: Apple macOS 11.5 (Big Sur) or later Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 macOS M-series: Apple M1 16 GB Windows: 8GB of RAM Processor with SSE2 support (Pentium 4 or better) macOS Intel: 8 GB of RAM Minimum Requirements for Redshift using GPU macOS M-series: Apple M1 16 GB Windows: 8 GB RAM NVIDIA GPU with CUDA compute capability 5.0 or higher (https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus) and 8 GB VRAM macOS Intel: 8 GB RAM AMD "Navi" or "Vega" GPU or later and 8 GB VRAM See the supported AMD GPU list below Single GPU Recommended Requirements for Redshift using GPU macOS M-series: Apple M1 Max 32 GB or better Windows: 16 GB of RAM or more Core i7 or Xeon equivalent, 3.0GHz or better NVIDIA GPU with CUDA compute capability 7.0 or higher (https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus) and 8 GB of VRAM or more macOS Intel: 16 GB of RAM or more AMD "Navi" or "Vega" GPU or later and 8 GB VRAM or more See the supported AMD GPU list below Multiple GPUs - macOS: List of supported AMD GPUs for Redshift MacBook Pro Radeon Pro Vega 16/20 Radeon Pro 5500M/5600M iMac Radeon Pro Vega 48 Radeon Pro 5500XT/5700/5700XT iMac Pro Radeon Pro Vega 56/64 MacPro Radeon Pro Vega II / Vega II Duo Radeon Pro W5500X/W5700X Radeon RX 6800/6800XT/6900XT Radeon W6800X MPX Thunderbolt eGPUs Radeon RX Vega 56/64 Radeon Pro WX 9100 Radeon VII Radeon RX 5500/5500XT/5600XT/5700/5700XT Radeon RX 6800/6800XT/6900XT Radeon W6800X MPX

  5. @cvangorp Educational lab licenses can take between 3 -5 business days. I will check with the Educational team, to provide the professor with an update. @jeff prince I will check the status of your order and I will get back to you via email.
  6. @MarcelP102 I appreciate your patience, I'm raising the priority of this issue with our web team - thanks
  7. @jrodeaIt could be multiple things - Please contact our support team at tech@vectorworks.net or 443-542-0411 for additional troubleshooting - thanks
  8. @Tom W.Currently, I don't see any plans for the other tools, but plans can be adjusted. It will be better to submit this request as a Wish in the forum and then we can see the level of interest in the community. Thank you for your interest.
  9. I updated the permissions, could you try again and confirm? - thanks
  10. Done - I moved the most recent and relevant posts.
  11. I moved some of the most current posts to the new Energos area - Some others I think are irrelevant at this point.
  12. @Christiaan Thank you for the reminder...Energos forum ✔️ It is under the General section. Have a great weekend!
  13. @Oaktown I can see how annoying this can be - please get in touch with our tech@vectorworks.net team so we can troubleshoot the issue - thanks
  14. @luuk veugelink Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any workaround or solution to install Vectorworks in a Chrome OS device. However, if you have some sort of access to virtual machines with a macOS or Windows that could be a solution for these Students.
  15. Would you mind sending it to jalmansa@vectorworks.net? - thanks
  16. It was It was actually a C:drive don't know what happened there - 😞
  17. @rjtiedeman Any chance that you can send us the crash logs? Thanks
  18. Starting January 1, 2023, monthly and annual subscriptions will be the only purchasing option for licenses of Vectorworks in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. December 30, 2022 will be the last day to purchase perpetual licenses or new Service Select agreements in these markets. For all other markets, this change will go into effect by January 1, 2025; please reach out to your local Vectorworks distributor to learn more about the timeline in your market. This means that after January 1, 2023, any perpetual licenses sold or bought between end users will not be eligible for upgrade and will not be able to be added to a Service Select contract. If you choose to buy an older version of Vectorworks from another user, the license is yours and will continue to work as long as you have a compatible operating system, but can’t be transferred into your existing Service Select agreement and you will not be able to assume or transfer their agreement. If you are buying or selling a license with another user, you can reach out to the Vectorworks customer service team at customerservice@vectorworks.net and we will provide a Transfer of Ownership Form which will notify us of the new owner of the license for our records and to provide technical support if the license is still within its support window. If you own any perpetual licenses without a Service Select agreement in place, you should consider adding a Service Select agreement before the end of 2022. Without the Service Select agreement, you will not be eligible for enhanced benefits, including access to the latest versions when they become available.
