  1. The two tools I use and recommend for PDF compression (and other tasks) on Mac are PDF Expert and PDF Toolkit+.
  2. And now Streamdeck has a 64 key iPad option ($50 one time, subscription also available). I'm curious to hear if & when anybody tries it. Here's the press release: https://www.corsair.com/newsroom/press-release/stream-deck-goes-free-elgato-announces-groundbreaking-changes-to-mobile-app
  3. Create a new Class for the glass and configure its Texture as you desire. Then go back to the Door settings shown in @Tom W.'s post, and select your newly created glass Class for the Glazing of your door.
  4. Seems like a simple solution. Time to update my custom Workspace.
  5. I think Coffee Break recordings are limited to Service Select (and subscriptions?) for some reason.
  6. I believe not all 3D objects (working from memory)
  7. Try the little drop down in annotation space and select "associate". Worked for me.
  8. I'm still testing InteriorCAD but would be interested in joining the Discord.
  9. I'm never in the market for the top tier machines, so something in the current offerings would suit my needs. The only real issues are price, timing, and figuring out what level of performance I need for my VW workflow. My best guess right now is that I'll wait until 15" MacBook Airs w/ 24GB RAM show up in the Apple refurbished store (unless my 2019 Intel iMac dies before then). My condolences to those who push the envelope and need top of the line machines with upgrade possibilities.
  10. Correct. As an architect, I set up the file to be most convenient for the majority of my work. For other types of practice a different setup is likely better. Also, I don't use georeferencing or share my files with others, so I am free to move and rotate the survey without coordinate concerns.
  11. I've found rotating the survey (or a referenced survey to avoid importing unneeded classes) on a design layer works best for me. If needed, you can then rotate your sheet layer viewport of the site plan before adding any annotations, and then enter the annotation space for notes, etc. That way, your site plan is oriented per industry standards (north up where I practice), and your floor plans will be orthogonal to the page.
  12. @KWiley As you can see, one of the disadvantages (and benefits) of VW is that there are many ways to accomplish your goals, so you're sure to get conflicting advice in the forum.
  13. I transitioned from a Design Layer (2D) only workflow to a 3D, SLVP annotations workflow, and am happy with the change. Once I realized that Design Layers are only for building the model and Sheet Layers are for presenting the information it was pretty easy to keep things straight. For 2D details, I'm not sure it's as helpful, but I still think it's an improvement on my previous workflow.
  14. That's what I meant. Thanks for explaining it better.
  15. Way above my pay grade, but could you create a handle symbol that only has the drilling (no actual handle), and make the hole the size you want?
  16. Can you explain why you copy elevations back to a design layer rather than working in the annotation space of a sheet layer viewport?
  17. I have a similar question for XS. Looking to have cabinets cases with 3/4” plywood veneered boards that show plywood fill in section and wood texture in 3d. I’d also like to have other US standard plywood boards. I also like to show solid wood fill on imperial thickness doors. Am I right that using a Solid Wood board for fronts will allow this? Am I missing something?
  18. I'm testing the demo version of XS, and trying to get my head around InteriorCad "materials". Are they related in any way to VW "Materials" resources? Is there a way to coordinate them in terms of reporting, graphics, etc?
  19. I don’t know how I missed that. And I had already voted. Moderator - feel free to delete this thread or combine with the one @Tom W. started.
  20. I've seen it mentioned, but couldn't find a wishlist item, so I thought I should push it onto the radar. Please vote for it at the top of the thread if you'd like to help.
  21. When you apply a data visualization to a SLVP a key is automatically created at the lower left corner of the annotation space. It can be deleted manually. I am requesting the option as a VW preference and/or per occurrence whether the key should be created or not. This would be consistent with the UI checkmark to add a drawing label when creating a SLVP. Thanks.
  22. Linking back to the original thread for a response from @Luka Stefanovic regarding separate layers for demo/existing:
  23. This VWU webinar might help: https://university.vectorworks.net/course/view.php?id=2658
  24. I don't think there were transfer fees for US licenses when I sold mine a couple of years ago. I agree with the rest of your post.
  25. For the wall ends, you have to manually add a cap per https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2023/eng/VW2023_Guide/Walls/Creating_wall_end_caps.htm For the top, there's no way I know of to include this in the Wall object, and you have to create it as a separate object (Extrude Along Path, Extrude, Slab, Floor, etc). I'm pretty sure this is a pretty popular Wishlist item in other threads.
