  1. What? No record? That is not true Nina in this thread said it is a known issue and they are working on it.
  2. I haven't figured it out yet. Pretty sure it is a bug in VW2020
  3. Nice model of your balcony sliding doors.
  4. The office I work in the past always used VW as a 2D drafting program, since I started here I've done all my projects as BIM models and taught others in the office to do the same. My biggest pain, trying to issue a set of 100 drawing sheets with viewports that need to be updated on about 50 of the sheets. We use Vectorworks because a lot of our clients are also using the same software. We also use Revit in our office and I've done lots of projects large projects with that software as well. No waiting for Viewports to update in that program. There are lots of things I like about VW but updating viewports isn't one of them.
  5. Bruce, Just checked and yes it can. Go to File/Document Settings/Units. and check show Unit Mark.
  6. If you are using imperial units, create a regular dimstyle. For the mm dims create a dual side by side dimstyle and turn the Primary dimension display off in the OIP and add a mm trailer. If you are using metric units do the opposite. I would put one of each dimension type in the drawing area somewhere and use the create similar command to quickly switch between them.
  7. I made a copy of the door, turned it into a group, edited it then made a symbol. In the door PIO I checked use symbol geometry. You could also create a custom door leaf.
  8. Challenge accepted. sliding-door-challenge-complete.vwx
  9. Create an extra design layer with an flat extrusion object above the wall you want to removed the peaks from, at an elevation you would like the walls. Select the walls you want to change the peaks on then run the AEC fit walls to objects command and choose fit to objects on the layer you created. This will remove the peaks from your walls.
  10. So this is a strange one in VW2020. I've created a railing with the railing tool. I want to move a post using the position dialog. When I input a number in the Offset Position I have to type the number backwards ie I have to type 63 in order to get 36, this is because the cursor is moving to the left instead of the right after I type each number. Not a big deal when you have a number like 36 but try 3'10 5/8" backwards quickly. See attached image. Has anyone else seen this?
  11. Do you have a mouse with any programmable buttons. You could assign the calculator to one of them.
  12. When the edit section in place option became available I had great hopes for it. I quickly found out it took way to long for an edit section to load. It was much faster to go to plan view or 3d view and use the clip cube.
  13. Pat, If you look at the image in my post you can see that the first thing I did was to start a new document with five blank sheets. I did this to see if it was an issue with my file. I'm working on a Window's 7 machine, I opened the same file on a Mac and we didn't have the same issue.
  14. Clicking on the name button did reorder them for me. But I would still like to know why it is reversing the order of the drawings. This was not the case in previous versions of VW.
  15. In Vectorworks 2020 when I select multiple sheets to print the order gets reversed. In the attached image on the left is a list of sheets 1 to 5 when I select them and send them to the publish list on the right the order is reversed from 5 to 1. This means I have to select each sheet one a time to get them in the correct order. Not a problem for a small project but most of my projects have 70 to 100 sheets. Anybody have an idea what is causing this?
