    Free Rotate

Did you select the item first? Select the item and when you get the lever arm hit the tab key and you can tab along and type in the angle you need.
  3. Hi, Sometimes its easier to have a site modifier component as part of the item you are putting on the site so it updates the model. Say a swimming pool, for instance, make the pool and also a site modifier and add it to the pool so when you put the pool in the site it updates, move pool and site changes. HTH
  4. Hi, I would make pieces and put textures on them and make the cake the way it is actually made. Haven't made one but i presume you cut up 2 different coloured cakes and put together in a pattern. So i made pieces and put them together. Others may have other ideas but its a start. HTH
  5. Doesn't this actually give you a hatch of 2" x 4" pavers? Doh, Oh yea my maths and brain isn't as it was 40 years ago. But the principle still applies. Will post the new one.
  6. I just put the texture beds on a different class when I create it then you can change the texture and line style by class.
  7. Hi, If you want to just create walls from polygons you could convert your polygons to slabs that are the correct height (thickness). Unfortunately the thickness in down and not up so you will have to move walls (slabs) up by the thickness of your slabs to get them to sit on your zero level. Unfortunately when you convert a fat polygon to a wall it uses the perimeter line. So add all your polygons together and create objects from shapes. Will think more to see if wall can be produced better. Maybe if you draw a wall and add AEC/wall projections from your polygons they will create fat walls. HTH
  8. Hi see attached. (this in in millimetres) Go Modify hatch and set the numbers like this.Because you want each board to over lap the length is 6" plus 1 overlap of 2" so the length is 8" for Level 1 and Level 2. And the dash facter there are 4 patterns till you get a repeat so you need on 75% of the line so the dash factor is 0.75. if it was 1 it would create a full grid HTH
  9. If you have a viewport to the survey I would move your viewport to the location you want and rotate it to sit over your plan.
  10. You are not alone, see post. https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=205241#Post205241

    Wall joins

Make sure your core wall components are all set to the same component this may change how they are joined.
  13. Hi, this texture is similar and i worked it over on Photoshop to get a larger sample by book matching it so hopefully it will help. Sorry just changed the image as it had a slither of whit in the overlap. Hopefully this one is ok
  14. Hi, I guess you could go to VW preferences and direct the user Data and Preferences Folder to the same common location on your server. That way you can control it.
  15. Works fine for me. File Export 2014 and it saved ok.
  16. Unless I am missing something the min to create an image prop in a VW drawings is 6 clicks and I don't see how you can speed up the work flow as you still need to decide if you want a transparent IP or rotated to viewer, or crossed plane so it appears 3d so it depends on what you want to use it for. I counted all the clicks including the menu bar to get to the Create IP to final. I am interested as always in new solutions.
  17. Much of the items are already image props. VW libraries/image props/Props Hi-Res and drag them onto your drawing and tick auto-rotate and crossed planes. You can also create your own by selecting an image for the net that has a constant colour background. Go create image prop and select image then select create mask use mask and select same image and select transparent colour. Adjust till you get a good contrast then ok and you got a prop. Also select auto rotate and crossed planes. HTH
  18. Hi, Click on invisible not exported and you should not have a problem. I think that if you export them as invisible the DWG file opens with all them on.
  19. When you go Export DXF/DWG are you selecting Invisible Classes are: Not Exported???
  20. Hi, it's either the fill for the class or if you are talking about the clipcube you can change the red to another colour. Go tools/VW preferences/interactive/and change the Colour (Color for the rest of the world LOL) of the ClipCube-solid fill there. HTH
  21. Kevin, Thanks for this, its a much simpler solution than the way I was going about it with yours using Glow from the texture. The result is more even as yes the line and area lights can be a bit spotty. Thanks for this, that's what is so good about this forum, always learning.
  22. What I found also when testing this if I shell the back of the letters and extracted the inside of the recess and used that for the area light I was able to have the light glowing at the wall as if the letters have a glass back, otherwise if you put a light under the letters you get the light spilling out too far.
  23. Do you want it directly above and attached or wall between? If you have the Windoor option for inseting doors and windows you can do the following attached.
  24. I have run them through photoshop and save them as pdf again at lowest quality and don't save with photshop layers they file come down from 5,000kb to 300kb, But i am exporting the same file from home computer and i get a PDF of only 350kb when export PDF at 150 dpi but at work i get 5,000kb. Will look when i get to work to see settings.
