AEgan
I have 8 cryo jets on a stage for an event, in Vectorworks I inserted the VW 12' Cryo Jet Instrument, but I'm missing something because I can't get the fixture to show the Cryo stream. Any help would be great! Thanks all! Quote Link to comment
bcd
That functionality isn't available. Yet? Cool item for the wishlist though. Quote Link to comment
Mike Wright
I had to go to Cinema 4D to create this effect (for chauvet geysers), it's a very difficult thing to model and would be a big step for VW to go this far given that. Even with cinema 4D to cut render times from days to hours I had to 'add' the geysers as a layer after the render of the rest. The effect in C4D is 'pyro cluster' if you have access. bcd
I would explore achieving this with textures & transparency, perhaps also displacement bump rather than modelling this in VW. Quote Link to comment

EAlexander
I always this in post in Photoshop or Aftereffects. Any scattering medium solutions I've found in Cinema 4D aren't worth the render times. Edited July 20, 2017 by EAlexander Quote Link to comment
scottmoore
I've done these with image props. It's best done in post, but if you just need to show a client the effect, an image prop will do it. Quote Link to comment
mreadshaw
Is the "Cryo Jet" instrument in VW2017? It doesn't show up when i search that term. Would be handy. Quote Link to comment
scottmoore
I was thinking about this and thought that the image prop solution would look a little more realistic if the prop texture was slightly transparent. Is there a way to apply a transparency to an image prop? Quote Link to comment

Peter Neufeld
Thanks Scott! A bit of tomfoolery especially the Image Mag on the screen. Cheers, Peter Quote Link to comment
