  1. I think the wall closures are a nice addition, but is all on the wrong front, I can't remember any single user asking for wall closures, however, there have been plenty of users asking, begging, and demanding stacked walls for, like forever, ... so maybe you are doing great work in places were few people are going to use?
  2. MEP on Vectorworks? Unless you want old-school, 19th-century 2D-only MEP design, yes, maybe people are doing that in Vectorworks 21st-Century BIM MEP design in Vectorworks? not a chance! , the MEP tools in Vectorworks are a sad joke...
  3. To my knowledge, nothing has improved since then, and any improvements seem unlikely, I ponder sometimes if the focus of Vectorworks is architecture...
  4. Sadly, Vectorworks has neglected those areas for Architects and Landscape Designers, so no luck over there....
  5. Sorry, but that's a very lame way to respond to consumer requeriments, -"I want a simple thing on a Wall" -"Sorry no can do, try an half baked solution to fake the result" -"But all other BIM apps do it!" -"Sorry about that, but Vectorworks can't do, too complex"
  6. I totally agree with you, all of the major BIM apps have this option for, like forever, sometimes I wonder if Vectorworks is even trying to compete with them, even in the videos Vectorworks shows the benefits of Vectorwoks agains Autocad, a CAD software! or with Sketchup! Seems to be embarrased to do one showing off against any real BIM software! Stacking walls in Vectorwoks: Keep dreaming! Change control in Vectorworks: Not a chance! MEP in Vectorworks: Who does it ? Pivot doors in Vectorworks: What's that? Real projections of objects in Vectorworks. Ha! And I can keep going....
  7. Sadly, Vectorworks is mostly use for solo practitioners or very small firms, in the US is very rare to find large firms using Vectorworks, even in New Zealand, once Vectorworks was widely used, now most firms use Archicad, even long-time Vectorworks evangelist Jonathan Pickup is teaching Archicad and moving away from Vectorworks
  8. This is great! Awesome work!!!
  9. Well, the stacked walls have been requested many times over the years, yet nothing... big surprise
  10. If they are Roof Faces, use the Connect/Combine tool to connect Roof Faces
  11. Dont use the old Custom Stair in recent Vectorworks versions, will corrupt your file, usit only as reference and then ungroup it
  12. Check if the classes of the components are turned on in 3D
  13. Maybe as some of them suggested you should explode the object, lose all the attributes, and texture it
  14. The new Beam tool started with a lot of promises, but under delivered and let it to rot, you can even get a proper quantity take of from them, and the texturing is lame.
  15. Yes, the section line instances only works in Plan Views, the tool is still half baked, you will have to put it manually
  16. Photoshop has a bigger user base, Vectorworks use is dwinling in my country, so I don't see how things are going to be from now on
  17. So in sake of time is better to explode every "parametric" object to texture it properly? like the textures on hardscapes or in slabs? so is better to ungroup the geometries and texture them for the sake of time ? so Vectorworks is another Sketchup? I'm glad I don't do my renderings in Vectorworks...
  18. That's correct, they keep pushing new features leaving the ones that matter shelved, take the horizontal section Viewport, is still half baked, the stair tool, no stacking walls, and so on and now the susbscription only scheme.
  19. Well, yes, unless Autodesk bite the bullet and release a Mac version of Revit, and then that's all for the rest 😂
  20. Seems Vectorworks is pushing the faithful users to Archicad, that's the only one with perpetual licenses and a MEP solution for small firms... thank you Vectorworks.
  21. So the texturing is still so bad you had yo destroy your plug-in objects to be able to texture them? What a waste!
  22. You can try the WinDoor plug in, is free now, it has a ton of configuration for doors and windows, put our native window and door tool to shame
  23. You can use the ancient Wall Framer command, but if you are looking for a parametric way to do it, like in any other software out there, you are out of luck, you will need to do it by hand, and remodel it every time the desing changes, wasting a lot of time in the process. Even sketchup has a great tool for wall framing
  24. There is another stair the Stair tool can't model (mild shock), I'll have to model it by hand and waste a ton of time... sigh We really need a more parametric Stair tool..
  25. The www.vectordepot.com page don't load anymore.... Has anyone have the plugin now?
