GFW
All the glazing in my windows seems to be opaque. I have checked again and again that the glazing is set to the correct class (Glazing - clear) but I cannot seem to get it right. I have even created a new class with no fill and tried to set the glazing to that one but it makes no difference. If I set the whole window to that class, the frame becomes clear but the glazing is still opaque. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Have you assigned a transparent "glass" Renderworks Texture to that 'Glazing - Clear' class? Applying Object Textures by Class - Vw2017 Help File Quote Link to comment
GFW
Thank you rDesign. I don't get the Texture/ Surface /Hatch dialog box. I believe this is part of the Renderworks package..... Do you know if that is a separate purchase from Vectorworks Architect? Quote Link to comment
GFW
I should mention that I'm using Vectorworks 2014 Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@GFW Hi check these setting in the attached. Quote Link to comment

(In Vw2017, Renderworks is included with all packages so it is no longer an add-on, but in 2014 it was an add-on). @JimW- I don't know how Vw2014 Architect (without Renderworks) controls the appearance of Door & Window components so that Glass looks transparent, not opaque. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted April 29, 2017 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 29, 2017 Without Renderworks and a Design series module that lets you fully edit Doors/Windows I don't think this is possible. Quote Link to comment
Andy Broomell
Without textures, a workaround might be greying the Glazing-Clear class: Quote Link to comment
AlanW
OMG I could not imagine VW without RenderWorks. I would upgrade you will never look back. Quote Link to comment
GFW
Thank you everyone:) I have switched off the glass class entirely which has resolved the problem. I am now looking into purchasing Renderworks Quote Link to comment
rDesign
As of Vw2017, Renderworks is no longer an add-on and is included in all of the packages. So if you upgrade to Vw2017 Architect it will include Renderworks. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I also think, if you can afford an upgrade to VW 2017, it will offer so much more. Quote Link to comment

rDesign
Just be aware that if you do consider upgrading to Vw2017, it is much more taxing on your computer than Vw2014, especially on the graphics card. Depending on how old your computer is, it may not run 2017 as quick and / or reliably as 2014. Links to 2014 & 2017 System Recommendations for comparison: Quote Link to comment
GFW
Thank you for the heads up rDesign. I am running OSX10.10 so should be ok;) Quote Link to comment
