Josh NZ
There is an option to add a box to the text of a dimension. I haven't seen the same option for text. Have looked in the OIP and Text menu command. At the moment we are having to draw a rectangle underneath the text and sometimes group. Is there an option to do add a border to text? Josh NZ
Also I seem to have lost the ability to add a shadow? Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Select the text and add solid fill. If Shadows are not showing maybe either restart and if that doesn't fix delete the menu and re add. Quote Link to comment
Josh NZ
Thanks Alan, the option was there before but now not present. Will try a restart. Quote Link to comment

Andy Broomell
Unfortunately there isn't a way to add an outlined box around a Text object, though I wish there were! Actually I can see uses for multiple text box shapes including rectangle, rounded rectangle, cloud, hexagon, and circle. These already exist as part of the Callout tool and I think integrating that into Text objects would be awesome. 4 Quote Link to comment
Markvl
Wish list. I'd vote for it. I like the idea of an all in one text object. Quote Link to comment
the.dreamer
Still no easy way to add a box around a text ? And with rounded corners ? Would be awesome to add this directly in a text style. I specifically want to add this to the hanging positions names in Spotlight. 2 Quote Link to comment
Garrett Burleson
Bump. We regularly have to draw boxes over the top of text boxes. Depending on line weight we sometimes also have to make minor adjustments around the boxes so that the text is not covered up by the box - frustratingly laborious. Quote Link to comment
MarCur
Maybe the new tool Data Tag, in Label mode could be a choiche. Just defining a desired Style in Rosurce Manager Quote Link to comment
