simbob
Is there a way to add skirting boards to a wall automatically? Quote Link to comment
twk
You could use wall styles, -Core component is actual wall -add component(s) for skirting and set heights I think someone posted awhile back an example of wall styles that gave me this idea. If I find it I will post it here. Quote Link to comment
simbob
So by adding another element to the wall at skirting height, i get it, thanks Quote Link to comment

AlanW
@RajSimple Extrud Along Path will work, or you can use a Marionette Network. Have a look at this file and video. the house has skirting and Cornices. (Baseboards and crown moldings to some) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxKvPrunoJE House_002_(2).zip Edited January 11, 2018 by Alan Woodwell Quote Link to comment

MRD Mark Ridgewell
This tool looks fantastic!. Please can we get this integral to VW?! Quote Link to comment
MRD Mark Ridgewell
...just downloaded the free 'frames' plug-in from AFDesign... https://andreafacchinello.wordpress.com/summary/ A very nice tool; simple, easy to use. Does exactly what you'd like it too - albeit I did have to look up the meaning of passepartout Definitely recommend it if you want to show artwork in 3d...will be checking out the 'baseboard' plug-in for sure! MRD Mark Ridgewell
Really like this plug-in.....extrude along path works, but I think this plug-in is much easier to use! Worked well for skirtings, cornicing/ coving & dado. Quote Link to comment

A 'plug' for a plug-in; if you need to create framed artwork or mirrors, just updated and now even easier to use! Baseboard plug-in also worth a look Quote Link to comment
VinceCastanon
@Alan Woodwell Your resource was perfect, just what I was looking for. I do have a couple of questions that may push beyond the script's limit - can the path be replaced with a 3D Polygon to put trim around gables for example? Can a texture be added to the gutters or trim? When I've tried to do that it seems to disappear - only solid colours work. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
@VinceCastanonHi, attached is update file. to change the line (geometry) simply right click on the object and edit control geometry. either move the line or draw another and delete the old one, 2d or 3d. Textures still appear to change when move or redo the script so i would ungroup the final product and then it becomes a simple extrude along path object and change textures in the OIP. HTH.
