VincentCuclair
I REALLY like the way this looks and seems to feel. Such nice graphics! 0 VincentCuclair
Take VWs dimensions for example: Why do we need to first select, then right click dimensions for all edits? Why not just hover the witness line and hit delete to get rid of it or hover the dimension and hit delete to remove that dimension. Why not just select a dimension, click a point and voila new witness line? Edited July 10, 2013 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
ugh, I don't like watching videos like this. They're nearly a decade ahead of VW. Quote Link to comment

I was watching some of these a couple of weeks ago. Its like a user interface designer was involved.... KM Quote Link to comment
0 Patrick Fritsch
Live bldgs has been in the works for about 3 yrs from what I know. Dassault is probably taking notes from their user base of their free CAD program Draftsight which I've used and has been in continual development for a couple years now. They are also probably learning from Gerry Technologies who developed his own expensive BIM platform based on Dassault's Catia program. I'm sure something will eventually pop up. 0 Bruce Kieffer
It's sick how nice the functionality looks. I'll bet SolidWorks considers a front view orthogonal view a 2D view. Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
Wow, they have something in private beta. That could shake things up. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, they probably saw the potential in such a program however have discovered the magnitude of such an undertaking, MD is largely 3D modeling and sheets with annotations, the step from there to buildings is a whole other ballgame (as NV has discovered the hard way). The absence of Live Buildings on the market as yet is probably a good sign partly because it shows they're doing a thorough job and partly because they don't want to release a Beta version (like NV does with VWs each year). 0 VincentCuclair
don't want to release a Beta version (like NV does with VWs each year). Ouch! Well, I don't consider that below the belt, my abundant presence on this forum is (at least on my part) not because of a lack of friends or hobbies but through necessity, the main reason being bugs, incomplete and missing/functions in the current software.........and an attempt to find creative workarounds to develop effective workflows. (I write this as I sit and add polygons with hatches to my hidden line elevations SLVPs manually for the last hour or so.......!!!!) ...a quick example: (associative) dimensioning in VWs is the worst in class when it comes to user friendliness......why? (It doesn't even work on Sheet Layer Viewports, the main place to have them!?) Edited July 11, 2013 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
I don't disagree. It was more an exclamation of being painfully on target. Quote Link to comment
0 Kevin McAllister
I don't mind being a beta tester by choice, I just don't want to pay to be one. If they sent me VW2014 today I would test it but I certainly wouldn't pay for it. In comparison I don't think I've ever encountered a single bug in C4D which is on the same development cycle.
