How about a 'VW Store'?

A valid point made.  It brings up a broader point of who is responsible for the Store. That likely would be Technical support and this will raise many questions.   Getting the store going will be a hurdle as it is, so I am thinking getting the finer points dialed in will come later.

There is one concern I have.  I have no problem creating models for free, but I would not like them to be sold somewhere else.  Either from an unscrupulous VW user (if there is such a thing) or Vectorworks itself.  It is possible that this Library could become valuable to the owner......who is the owner.

If a user submits content to a store or forum page who will be responsible to maintain compatibility with future versions of VW after the initial content is uploaded?

Not trying to play devil's advocate here or squash any ideas but personally knowing how much work is involved in maintaining content to get it functional when there are changes from version to version I thought I would raise the thought.

How much work is there maintaining the Marionette page that @twk drew our attention to?

Here is a question and there may not be an answer at this point. Often, symbols and resources have specific records or classifications attached that are specific to functionality with reporting or with features within a specific version. If these attachments need changing or updating to work with a new feature or programming change this is the work of the CAD Content Team during the cycle to make sure that those shipped resources will work. If a user submits content to a store or forum page who will be responsible to maintain compatibility with future versions of VW after the initial content is uploaded?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record.... but developers have already solved this problem with 3rd party code.

They put valid constraints in the header of the library. Should a library not update in a timely manor for the new version the user can fork the library themselves, update it then offer it back to the original contributor to merge into their library.

Sure that is subject the copyright agreement in place but (broken record is back) developers have good examples here to leverage.
