  1. Normally this can be fixed in the resource browser by locating the symbol with a definition of "Callout" and deleting or renaming it. The same thing can occur if you try to use a tool/name an object with the same name as a class, layer or record format. This may help as well: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/507/Check+if+a+Resource+is+Named+the+Same+as+a+Plugin+Object
  2. When you say it doesn't work, do you mean it simply stops undo-ing as if you've run out of undo operations, or it actually states that there are no more undos available in the status bar?
  3. I cant speak to the results of the script or this custom object, apologies. I didn't know this was a customized plugin object and not just the relocating of 3D loci to use in the creation of a path.
  4. This is a brilliant question... JimW why don't you ask the obvious next question! What obvious question do you mean?
  5. If Snap to Grid is enabled, it can behave this way. You can also make sure that "Offset Duplications" is disabled in the Edit tab Vectorworks Preferences, then duplicate the point and move it via Move 3D, giving the exact Z offset you want. If it seems to not move in a straight line in Z after that, let me know and send in the file.
  6. This is something I have heard requested for a number of years now. Especially with the proliferation of 3D scanning, both for the interior of rooms/buildings and scanning of the outside of 3D objects, this would be a useful addition.
  7. Any of these files that any of you are seeing crashing with, please send to Tech@vectorworks.net with a description of what you are able to do within the file to cause a crash. The crash log itself would be useful as well: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1092/Sending+in+Crash+logs+from+Mac+OS+X
  8. Yup confirmed here as well, submitting. (T minus 60 minutes until turkey.)
  9. You MAY be able to use the Walkthrough tool to align a few 3D perspective views, but no, unfortunately the Renderworks Camera tool is not available unless you have the Renderworks module installed. However, the demo version of Vectorworks includes Renderworks, if you want to compare the differences: http://www.vectorworks.net/trial/form
  10. Those should be completely gone now. If you do a full preference backup/wipe, do you have the same problem when using the default prefs in 2014 sp2? (no custom workspaces etc for the test) http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1099/Resetting+Vectorworks+Preferences
  11. Under View, do you have Unified View turned on? With Unified View on, under Unified View Options, uncheck everything but the first checkbox, then change views a few times and tell me if you see everything.
  12. Could you post one of those symbols in a vwx file here please? We can take a look.
  13. Many, many things in this pack: http://www.vectorworks.net/downloads/notes/2014SP2_Notes.php
  14. No problem! (I think the main reason they aren't classed in some other manner by default is that there is no way to match all the standards for all the locations we release this version in. But that may not be the case, it's what I've come to assume from all the requests for different class naming structures I've heard from various users.) However, yes, for any of the symbols that you plan to use regularly I would suggest creating your own custom resource library where you have set the classes of each symbol as desired.
  15. The axes handles used by C4D spring to mind. Not only the ability to drag along X/Y/Z (as well as custom axes defined by the user) but the visual rotate "ring" handles would be very useful as well. Found a good short demo of this logic here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMHK62WeCoY Submitting now as two items, axis handle movement and ring axes 3d rotation. (Looking into the 3d view handling now to see what the best suggestions to engineering would be.)
  16. Also check the scale you're working in, it can cause similar symptoms as text size being set too small.
  17. Curves should be significantly improved, especially in OpenGL in 2014 compared to 2012, there were a few changes in 2013 as well. Attached is a simple extrude along path with 3d conversion res and 2d conversion res to Very High, rendered in OpenGL. You can get much smoother results in the Renderworks rendering modes as well if you like but this is what I got in OpenGL set to Very High alone.
  18. Yes, if you edit the symbol within the resource browser, then choose "Symbol Options", you will be able to set the desired class at the bottom. If your symbol has a lot of sub-objects, make sure they're set to the desired class as well (they normally just match the symbol's class by default though), when you edit the 2D/3D components.
  19. Thats more than fine, I still dig into the wishlist pile to pull things out, but its BIG.
  20. Especially since vectorworks' adding of "-2" to the name, and subsequently "-3" and "-4" creates a large number of sub classes, which can get annoying rapidly.
  21. Im already seeing a LOT of the submissions we've processed since the 2014 launch progress to tasks for the next releases. Working with the community board has turned up way better results than I first expected. Now I just have to figure out how to keep my mouth shut about new features until 2015...
  22. In testing we were usually able to get it to install and on some machines it would launch if we ran it as administrator: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/927/Run+As+Administrator However there were multiple issues reported, DWG exports failing, no import options, save files becoming corrupted, etc. I would not recommend working with it regularly on those OSes.
  23. Ahhhh I thought you wanted the whole style, copying the components makes much more sense. Submitting.
  24. 1. Would that be easier than duplicating the wall style in the resource browser, then editing the duplicate? It seems like copying the components would be more steps. 2. Wall Components as resources would be convenient, submitting.
