  1. If you alter it in the OIP to something else, then change it back to what it was supposed to be, does it then display the correct text?
  2. Confirmed here. Submitting request now. Created two identical viewports of a plant object including its tag. Changed only the Text Scale in the lower viewport here to 2, caused the plant tag shoulder to increase in length thereby alter the location of the tag text as shown:
  3. Submitting a wish to add a modifier for the background color of palettes (Probably in the Interactive Appearance Settings dialogue) to bring them in line with the abilities to change the drawing area 2D view, 3D view and sheet layer colors.
  4. What specific kind of angles in landings are you trying to add that you cannot? Submitting a wish now for a separately controllable bottom tread. Currently Custom Stair can configure the bottom tread by just adding a flight of one tread to the end and its width is independent of the rest of the treads, but it cannot be curved that I can see as you requested. A cursory google search resulted in the following examples of this kind of curvature (in addition to a variable curve along the entire stair objects as shown in some of these, which ive gone ahead and done as yet another request) which I have included in my writeup of this wish:
  5. As long as you have or can make a proper displacement map, yes, you would be able to show siding fairly well. There are a couple places you can get highly detailed pre-configured image based textured paired with their bump or displacement maps already, like this one: http://resources.maxwellrender.com/search.php#page=1&mode=1&search=siding&v1=0&v2=0&tipo= Not sure exactly when on the VSS content but it may be awhile, I know videos on Worksheets and a few other things are coming first.
  6. Never noticed that, I always turn it off first thing and only use it per sheet layer. It seems like something that should be document specific so it could be kept with a template. Not sure why its that way. I'll check and if its that way for a reason i'll post.
  7. I tried upping 2D and 3D conversion res to Very High, and then yes it appears to be masked by lineweight, but for thinner lines I still see it here. Pretty sure its the fact that the object is 3D (or the issue is 3D conversion res-based), as I can place 2D arcs and flat NURBS curves of the same radius on the sheet layer as well and they export as smooth as expected. Submitting as an issue now specifically for PDF Export, since I see nice smooth curves in VW and in image exports as described earlier.
  8. I see what you're getting now, even at 2000% zoom. Taking a closer look into it here. Happening even when I increase the DPI of the sheet layer and exported PDF to 3000 more than it should, but its not as bad as when its a sheet layer of 72DPI. Happens on OS X 10.9s Preview and Adobe Reader XI on both OS X 10.9 and Windows 8.1.
  9. This is what I see when I open your PDF in Adobe Reader XI on Windows 8.1:
  10. Tell me if you see the same oddness in this PDF:
  11. You would activate the Database Header row, select it, then click and drag the "SUM" tag from the top left of the worksheet editor window to the column that had the duplicate entry, probably "A" in this case.
  12. How would you (or anyone else reading this) propose this be implemented? Is there some similar object, command or tool in Vectorworks that already behaves in a manner similar to what you're looking for? Something from another application as an example?
  13. You will also see different behavior with the polyline tool if you click while the cursor is in motion. For instance if you click, move the cursor upwards, stop, click, you'll get a straight line. However if you click, move the cursor up and right and click while in motion, the drawn line segment will begin to bend to follow your cursor. This will happen in the first mode without you needing to change modes, but its more for freeform drawing, for more precise control its best to change the modes manually as described above.
  14. I think the main reason they aren't resource objects is because they existed in older versions of Vectorworks (MiniCAD) before the Resource system did. There are a few wishlist items currently to bring them (along with other things like patterns and dimension standards) into Resources instead.
  15. Same issues confirmed here. Submitting as an issue now.
  16. It can indeed be downloaded and installed, but it is a completely separate application. If you currently have Vectorworks 2013 installed and you then install 2014, you will have both and can remove 2013 at your discretion.
  17. Please send me that file and the reference at tech@vectorworks.net and I can have a closer look.
  18. Do you see it there in wireframe mode as well? Does it happen in any rendering modes other than OpenGL? If you move around with the Walkthrough tool, does it move with the rest of the drawing or remain there?
  19. Agreed, making the user click both ends manually shouldn't be necessary. I would think that double-clicking an arc with this tool should simply dimension it from end to end, but if a user wanted to just dimension to a specific point along the arc, they could use the tool as it is now. Submitting request now. - I dislike the search immensely. As a tip, I have better luck first signing into the forums, then using Google to search them directly instead of using the built in search by using this method: site:http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ (your search terms not in parenthesis) That aims Google at our forums specifically. Its a workaround but more of a general internet one than a Vectorworkaround. But we are in talks about upgrades, If I hear news I can pass along I will do so.
  20. Second question first: With the Rectangle tool active, change your Plane mode in the view bar to "Screen" and youll be able to draw as you want with that tool. This explains the Plane system in more detail: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1086/Working+with+Screen+and+Layer+Planes For the double lighting, please send me that file at tech@vectorworks.net and we can take a look.
  21. You can turn them off now in Vectorworks 2014. Under File > Document Settings > Document Preferences > Display, uncheck "Display viewport out-of-date border"
  22. This should now be corrected as of Vectorworks 2014. I do not know if it will be addressed in older versions.
  23. Should be able to use File > Import > Import Sketchup, if you have any of the design series versions of Vectorworks.
