  1. Hi, I know how to extrude along a path, however I was wondering if you can extrude along a grouped path? I have out-lined a moulding profile path (with curves) and rather then extruding them all individually & then lining them up, is there a quicker way to do this? The other problem doing it in individual paths is where I have the curves they don't join/line up with the straight paths. I hope this makes sense & there is a quick/easy solution. Thanks Alice
  2. HI, Can people who have VW 2013 update to VW 2014 with just a online download? Or is it a new software? Alice
  3. Hi, I have recently came across the Loft Surface tool and have used this to create a curtain which then created into a symbol. Worked great!! Now I am wondering if this can be used to create Bed Throws ect to give the beds more of a natural look. I haven't tired this yet, but was wondering if anyone has done this sort of thing instead of just importing a 3D file of a website, as thinking this will save space. Hope to hear from some of you soon!! P.s any other tips for making it all look more natural welcome
  4. Hi Tamsin, Yeah that is perfect, the layer wall height was still set at 0. Thank you
  5. Hi, This is the 1st time I am using this function rather than just using the wall tool, as trying to improve on my skills. I have a 3D shape done by using the push pull function and have three floor layers set up at the correct elevation heights. When I go into ACE - Space Planning - Model to Floorplan and select the layers 1-3 and click ok, it just creates the floor with no walls. I might be doing something really stupid here but I have tried to change the wall type as well but still nothing? Any idea ?.
  6. Thanks Monadnoc, I will give this a go tomorrow and give you my results, I done another image in photoshop and showed it to the team who where equally impressed with it, so I do think that is the way to go. As for interior 4 bounces, would that not increase rendering time too? I have it set to either 1 or 2 bounce. Yes all lights are set to soft shadows also. Thanks
  7. Kevin, Anti-aliasing is up to Med and res is at 300 DPI. With all the lighting in here any higher and it will take a full day to render one image and I have four different views. I am leaving it over night so hopefully will be done tomorrow. Your reference of less digital makes a lot of sense thank you.
  8. Here are the three different images. 1st one is what I am trying to achieve the look of (like i said before I am fully aware they use a different programme & rendering) Thank you
  9. silly question - how do I post up images please?
  10. HI Guys, Yeah I use both indirect lighting & environmental lighting (however this level I am working on is under ground so has no natural light source) I played about with photoshop last night and did get a softer look. I will post up the result I am after and you might be able to help me more. Will also post up my before & after photoshop. Please keep in mind my renders are not finished.
  11. That is what I was thinking. Do you know the best way to do it in Photoshop, havent used it in a while.
  12. Hi, I am after a way to get my renders more soft looking (after going on training we figured this is the main difference from VW renders & say Cinema 4D) I have added blurriness to all the textures and on Med on custom render setting (too high takes forever to render) If any of you have any suggestion on how I can get the overall image looking softer (looks more like a photograph ect) I would be most grateful, as the other designers don't use VW and tutors say im pretty advanced in that aspect, just that its two different programmes. Thank You
  13. It's ok I have sorted it. One objected within the walls had corrupted the file (well at least I think it did). Just deleted it & it works. Thanks
  14. I was creating this last week, opened it this morning & went to render the house and it all just disappears and goes to the blue screen with no object there. When I click over it, it is still there. I have tried to copy & past it into a new window but same thing happens. It will render in top/plan view only but again when I then try and change the view is vanishes. It seems to me the file is corrupted but it was fine when I last saved it. Can anyone help - dont really fancy doing it all again. Alice
