  1. If you are using VAA title blocks (Select Border None) see attached or Sheet Borders with a title block (Hide Borders)also see attached.
  2. It would be great to have the capability to export our 3d Models so that a Client can view them as if in a game. I have used a gaming program called Unity 3D to place a model into and then export the file in a .exe file and the Client is able to walk around simply by using the mouse and the W,A,S,D keys. I notice Autodesk and 3D max have teamed up to produce "Stingray" which as understand has this capability. Currently there is no way to allow the Client to walk around the design without Vectorworks. The viewer does not support renderworks and wont show materials and nomad cannot be shown to a Client without providing them access to your account as you can't set a temporary access.

    Extrudes

Thought the split tool cuts through everything. Just drew rectangles 3d extruded polygons and rectangle, rectangles, wall, windows etc and when I drew a split line across all of them they all split along the line, It destroyed the windows and I was only left with lines. Am I missing the point???
  4. Shortcut "v" on keyboard and mouse over to highlight then click to turn off and on. On basic OIP looks like an eye with arrow to left.
  5. Have you tried doing a SAVE AS. I think this is how we resolved this problem last time. HTH
  6. Why not in your door schedule door height in the formulae just take off what you need. Then the result will be as desired. You could place 1 cell with all the different gap and shim widths needed and you could change them and the whole spreadsheet would change.
  7. Check your sheet layer DPI and your export resolution. Export form a viewport also, you get a better result.
  8. The trees will usually increase the file size considerably, I always like to keep mine to below 100mb. Purge to get rid of rubbish will help also. By the way with images you have the option to import them of reference them so they are not in the file.
  9. Dam, He gets all the fun things to do. Love Angie's umbrella and those CWU Vases are stunning and such detail, the reflection on the centre panel for the blue inside the shell is fabulous. AMAZING Well I'll get back to my wall detail.
  10. this looks like one for the 3d modeling section, Detail one panel and duplicate.
  11. I see what you mean by the circles don't stay circles for long up the cone. MMmmmmmmm I did try creating the cone and disk, make the disk a symbol and then split the cone into contours (create Contours) so I end up with rings at the appropriate spacing up the cone, then create a repetitive unite and then convert the rings into the repetitive units. You will need to slope the symbol to match the slope of the side of the cone. you need to convert the nurbs from the contours to polygons to create the repetitive unit. Did a few rings and seemed to work ok. Make sure you are in plan mode before creating the repetitive unit otherwise it becomes a roller coaster shape. HTH
  12. One way is to use the clip cube to isolate the elevation you are wanting to work on. If you select the cupboards on one elevation and hit the Clip cube you will see that only and you can navigate to a straight view of it by the numbers on the keypad. Untick the cube and you see all the plan again and do the same for another elevation. Not the best but its an option. Make sure you double click outside the cube to edit within it. HTH
  13. Thanks for the reminder, one tends to forget these things if not used for a while. Thanks

I am sure that you are all so busy and have demanding roles in your profession and yet still find time to answer most of our NOOB questions. Thankyou
  15. There is now way to do the same for hatches in a rectangle (surface) is there??? they always stay the same orientation????
  16. Hi, This attached video shows how to apply textures to wall and roofs and a table object. Same principal applies to most things. HTH
  17. Hi, Refer to; http://planet.vectorworks.net/2015/08/tech-roundup-august-2015/?utm_source=Planet+Vectorworks+Digest&utm_campaign=d342aa8bc1-Planet_Vectorworks_Digest_RSS_FEED_6_17_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_56c17d5317-d342aa8bc1-87198245 This came from the planet vectorworks.net monthly digest and showed the distribution of a fish shaped object across the surface of a bowl. Seemed simple and the program seemed to distribute the items perfectly. HTH
  18. You could use create wall projections and recesses. (AEC) and push your window back to wherever you want with plan wall offest in your window OIP. So you can get something like the attached. HTH
  19. think you are looking for this. "Placing Database Callouts" from the vectorworks help
  20. If you are trying to have 2 design layers showing in the viewport you will either need to mask some of the walls below, turn them off or have a Design layer for the foundations and one for above and just turn on and off the classes you need. Or duplicate the wall and place it on both design layers so no overlap. I keep all the dimension in the design layer except for say details and stuff that causes problems to turn on and off in the design layer. HTH
  21. Hi, Is there a way to tag posts as favourites or bookmarks so you can call them up any time??
