Phil hunt
morning I've saved my preferred pallete positions and have located the file in the user library ok but how do you open this file to get back to the saved pallets saved positions that were created. many thanks Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Pat Stanford
You don't. 😞 Save Palette Positions stores the palette positions in the preferences file. But the position is again stored (using the last settings) when you successfully quit VW. So the only time Save Palette Positions does anything for you is if you use if after rearranging your palettes and then have a crash the prevents VW from saving the preferences file on quit. It would certainly be nice to have multiple different palette setups available. 5 Quote Link to comment

Steven Kenzer
I've mentioned the app Stay before for this issue. One saves whatever VW pallet positions you want in Stay. Then, if pallets become rearranged, one goes up to the menu bar and clicks "Restore windows" and all pallets return to the original position. On rare occasion, I'll have one pallet remain out of position but that's simple to remedy. All in all, this app is the perfect answer to the pallet position issue that can arise with VW on occasion. E|FA
I'm assuming Stay won't work with docked palettes. Is that right? Quote Link to comment

VW is the only program I have where this is a problem / has not been addressed in programing as it is neither a bell, nor a whistle. 1 Quote Link to comment
Steven Kenzer
Ohh right....sorry, forgot to mention Stay is Mac only. As for docked palettes.....I just tried and, correct, Stay does not restore docked ones. 1 Quote Link to comment
mbuchan
It would be nice to have multiple palette positions available, when I go from my desktop monitor to my laptop monitor all my pallets and window get screwed up. 1 Quote Link to comment
