Sky
If I make a hung window any smaller than 30"w x 38"h, it punches an opening in the wall larger than the window. The window on the left is the smallest I can make it before it looks like the window on the right. I'm in VW 2023. Victoria v4.vwx Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
AFAIK there are a few Door or Window configurations that do not really do good to Wall closures. For me it was a Door with a Transom - when also having a side light, it offered similar results. When Sidelight off it worked as expected. But hey, better a crippled Wall Opening than a completely disappearing Wall, which is a current issue .... Quote Link to comment

0 Tom W.
I can't replicate it. Can you post a file? What is this at the bottom?: Quote Link to comment
0 E|FA
Possible temporary workaround. Pull the Window out of the Wall. Make a copy of the double hung window and change the Window configuration to "Opening". Insert the "Opening" into the Wall to create the opening. Turn off the insert into wall mode for the Wall (or group the window by itself so it can't insert into the wall), and position the actual window in the opening. 3D model miscellaneous wall closures as needed. Not great, but if you're on a deadline... Edited August 3, 2023 by E|FA 2 Quote Link to comment
0 E|FA
I just tried it on your file. It looks like there's something in your window settings (related to sill, jamb, closures?) that creates the bug even when it's an opening. If you create an opening with a generic window you can make it work. Here's a file for you to deconstruct. Victoria v4 Window Kludge.vwx Quote Link to comment

I have a Wall Closure button in the Window PIO. When I click on it, it has 3 tabs. All of them are set to Use Wall Settings. Quote Link to comment

I always create new Window Styles by duplicating + editing ones I created previously (so as to be consistent with class + other settings) + because my first Windows were created pre-Wall Closures for me the default is for 'Wall Closures' to be disabled. But I had a quick look at the stock VW Window Styles + they all seem to have it enabled. Plus the 'Custom Window' you get in a new file also has it enabled. So yes, I think if you use a stock VW Window + a stock VW Wall you will probably find Wall Closures happening automatically. Quote Link to comment

As others have pointed out, the problem only shows itself when using wall closures. In cases where you want to use wall closures, you can correct the issue by setting the Jamb Width to a non-zero vale then change it back to zero. Just keep in mind that this will need to be done whenever the size of the window changes. 5 Quote Link to comment
