0 Jeff Prince
That’s a feature. You disable it from the settings for entering the viewport if you don’t want it. "Add Reference Crop Object" is what you want to uncheck. It's quite handy for when you want to know the bounds of a viewport, such as making vicinity maps. 0 Pat Stanford
It shows the crop area of the viewport when you navigate from the Viewport using Edit Design Layers. If you don't want/need it just uncheck the Add Reference Crop Object. Or if it is helpful, just remember to delete it before you click the Return to Viewport button as a new Reference Crop Object will be created each time you Edit Design Layer. 1 Quote Link to comment
0 grant_PD
so is this a new feature that was enabled? I certainly didn't turn it on. Quote Link to comment
0 grant_PD
And if it is new, might I suggest that the feature be modified to auto create a new class: "reference crop" instead of just putting it in the active class? Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
It's not new. I have never used it, accidentally or otherwise. But I have my double-click set to 'Edit Annotations' so that's perhaps why... 1 Quote Link to comment
0 grant_PD
So strange that I never noticed this setting. And so strange that all of a sudden it got turned on. 2 Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
Definitely not new. It has been around since at least VW2017, probably much earlier than that. Command P with the Edit Viewport dialog box open would turn it on accidentally. 2 Quote Link to comment
0 Benson Shaw
Way older than 2017. v12.5 or earlier? Another thing that trips up the unwary is the stack of identical green rectangles formed by repeated switches between DL and VP. Could be a stack of many. Click/delete only removes the top one, making it seem that the delete action failed. Select similar works if settings adjusted, but be careful, other objects may be deleted. -B 1 Quote Link to comment
