How to cancel Publish command in VW

This was first asked over five years ago. How do you cancel a Publish command? You can cancel individual renderings. You can cancel other operations as well with the Command-period keyboard combination. Is there, here in VW 2023, a way to cancel a Publish command once it has been invoked? I'm hoping I'm just missing something simple-something better than a force quit of VW.

This just happened to me again.  It is the end of the work day so I started publishing 24 pages of a pdf and 5 minutes in I notice I am missing some layer visibilities in a viewport on the first page.   Now I wait for around 150 view ports to update so I can fix the problem or force quit Vectorworks and fix it now.  There must be a better option.  It would be so nice to be able to cancel fix my problem with a few keystrokes and start it over again.

Is there a fix/override switch now? Or am I locked in...

Yeah this is brutal. I accidentally included a couple sheet layers with renderings on them and now I wait....

 

I don't want to force-quit as I have other drawings open that may have unsaved changes.

I am revisiting this issue since it has been more than a year since I first brought it up. Does this inability to stop a Publish command still exist in VW2024 or has it been fixed?

Problem still exists as I sit here waiting for something to render that I didn't want to render... and can't cancel. As soon as you hit that last "Publish" button you're locked in.

The work around is to save your file before publishing and make sure you don't have anything else open.

Then you can just force quit the program to cancel the publish 😉

One would hope there could be a better way...

There is an old wish-list request for this functionality dating from Jan. 2017, so over 7 years old now...

Feel free to follow the link and go up-vote the request, maybe someday it will be implemented.
