Awright; I dL'ed the KML & SHP files, found an online SHP to DXF converter. Done.
BUT: now I see I have no idea how to request the fulldata set I need, which is the streets, sidewalks, etc. Any direction, help etc gratefully accepted
As the title suggests, How-to: import GIS Data (KML / SHP) into Vectorworks Spotlight? Running 2019 > 2020 at the moment.
I do not have designer, nor landmark nor Architect. having said that, my practice has now expanded, such that I need to have accurate physical data for block-size portions of some cities.
Any thoughts?
Thanks hive
@jblockNVM, found a workaround: I moved the file named "UpdaterLog.txt" from the Vectorworks 2020 folder (stuck it on the desktop), then ran the standalone Vectorworks 2020 Updater.app and the install is chugging merrily away.
NB: Successfully updated 2020 to SP1
@jblockI do not see any actual updater. The version stamps are different for my VWX app & the updater app. The VWX app does not seem to get updated.
Also, why do I not see the updater on the website (see above screen cap)?
Your thoughts?
This is what I find when accessing the updater site directly. does not look to me like there's an actual update.
@JuanP you have any sense of what's up in this regard?
Beam Viz by @benghiat does that very thing and I just deployed it successfully to demonstrate to the team the irrefutable fact that the Line Arrays hung 'there' would block the shot 'here'
