  1. Cool. 1 click vs. 8000 I am always amazed at how short and "simple" some scripts can be. I am glad there are script writers out there like you who are willing and able to help.
  2. I know what you mean...It does seem to be a problem. In this image I created a simple column. First in the OIP Render tab I set the texture to Brick, got this, with the shaft brick going vertical, no attribute mapping to correct it. Then, using the new VW2009 "Get Finishes/Classes" settings, set shaft to a finish class, and set that class with a brick texture. In this one I set the OIP Render tab to a concrete texture, that is where the capitol is getting its texture. This is what you get. No way of correcting this as far as I can tell it is a bug. Lastly, a work-around that seems to work...but not quite: In Resource Browser, duplicate the brick texture I am working with. Edit this duplicate, and rotate the image 90?. Now assign this "Rotated" Brick texture as the OIP Render tab texture. Use finishes for the base and capitol, trouble is now they don't render properly...see how the concrete texture is not applied correctly? Hmm. In conclusion... So...the "Get Finishes/Classes" thing does not work right, and if you are going to set the texture using just the OIP Render tab you need to edit the texture resource itself since there is no attribute mapping available for the Column PIO. Therefore: Better off using the Wall tool to make your columns. You get the advantage of being able to easily map textures, and just create Classes to handle the bases and capitols (also just little wall objects). Here is an example using the wall tool:
  3. I think you'll have to post a file here for others to try out.
  4. Say it took 2 seconds to manually trace each polyline with a new circle. That grueling, but doable, task would take about 2 hours 15 minutes. Based on what has already been discussed on the topic, sounds like writing a vectorscript to do this would take a matter of days.
  5. In the wall framer dialogue, hit "options," then be sure that the class you want to frame is selected and adjust the settings.
  6. Can you post a video clip on your website or you-tube for us to see? thanks!
  7. The texture in the Render tab of the Object Info Palette (OIP) is only for the mullions. In the Shape tab of the OIP, almost to the bottom, you will see that "Glazing:" is set to "Style-Glazing 1" Now go edit the Class Settings for Style-Glazing 1, give it a glass texture and set to Use at Creation. That's it.
  8. Attached a couple screenshots and a PDF of the ADA Accessibility Guidelines. You can just import these images into a VW file and use them as underlays to create your details.
  9. Is this a fresh 2009 file, or an old 12.5 file opened in 09? If you try it on a new file does this still happen? I just tried a few subtract solids and no problems. You should create a signature with your system info
  10. Do the original objects have a solid fill?
  11. I am not convinced that this is a problem. You might consider just grabbing the bottom right corner of the drawing window to change its size and move on.
  12. Yes, I am seeing this bug too. Bummer.
  13. What is that 'magic wand' tool in your basic palette?
  14. If this is your biggest problem, then I am guessing life is pretty good. You might want to check under Vectorworks Preferences to see what your palette margins are set to. I like to have mine on "both." This screenshot is from VW2009, but this setting is also found in VW2008:
  15. You need to talk directly to nna tech support. It is there for a reason, and would require some legitimate explanation for them to remove it.
  16. maybe. NNA might know by now. but it definitely was the cause of the problems i had.
  17. And you can't upgrade your video card on a Mac laptop. I was hoping I could, but not even an option. But in general I am not experiencing any problems that really require an upgrade. For others who are on MacBooks, I ran that Track Pad Fix script that Jeffery posted, but after that I saw huge problems with zooming and screen refresh. I submitted a bug, they confirmed the problem. I just replaced my application support folder with a fresh one to get back to normal.
  18. Be sure you have installed Service Pack 2. Not that this is your problem. I am on a similar machine and I the screen refresh is kind of poor here too. Many other things are faster though.
  19. The following works fine in 2D: Background set to OpenGL, or Renderworks, Foreground set to Hidden Line, Then hit the Foreground Render Settings button and check sketch. If that is what you are talking about...
  20. Seems to work just fine for me.
  21. genuine, no hidden meaning or arrogance intended. good luck. Happy Obama Day!
  22. Set Backround Rendering to OpenGL or Renderworks, or similar. Set Foreground Render to Hidden Line Hit the Foreground Render Settings Button (just below) Check "Sketch."
  23. But you must realize the satisfaction it gives those of us who love to answer an easy one like that! Answering your question meant that I was not completely wasting my time checking the forums. Without your question I would have simply been procrastinating on my own projects. You are really doing a community service. Now, back to work everyone. Deadlines await.
  24. Wes, can you post a file with a very simple model that demonstrates this? Although I get what you are talking about, it would be much easier to digest and analyze. thanks.
  25. Look at the top left of the drawing window. It shows the two zoom tool options.
