  1. If the delimiter was the problem it would not show as a device in LW4. Also update LW, I know John just releases a patch to fix some import/export problem.
  2. I'm not sure what you are trying to acheive as far as label placement, but if the bounding box of the symbol in the legend, the bounding box of the symbol you are using are what you expect, and you have not rotated the symbol in the label legend everything should work. Biggest source of problems with labels being out of place is some extra geometry in the symbol that you con't find unless you look for it. Select the symbol and use fit to window to see about how big the bounding box is. You're label positions may not update if you have manually moved them. You will need to delete and reassign the label legend to the instrument if my have manually moved the labels.
  3. RP, Did you place them with the accessory insertion tool? Just setting them as static accessories does not make them associate themselves with an instrument. If you mave the instrument does the accessory move too? If not, then the accessory is not inserted as an accessory. When you export do you have the export to LW4 box checked?
  4. The label legend resizes based on the bounding box of the symbol. Your symbol probably has some geometry that makes the label legend think the instrument is larger then it really is. The fixture in the LL must not be rotated, it must face the top of the page in order to work. Also, what version are you using? 12.5 has a few oprions that may help you out.
  5. There were reports of this problem in 12.0.0, but it was fixed in 12.0.1 as far as I know. Refreshing the instruments should fix the problem. If it does not send the file to tech@nemetschek.net to my attention and we will have a look at it.
  6. When you import the label legends they are just imported into the document, you must move them into the label legends folder. (12.5 label legend manager was improved to find all the label legends in the document, assign label legend still only looks to the Label Legends Folder. The label legend manager will create containers if there is no Containers folder present. Your document probably has a containers folder, but no hexagon or circle symbol in the folder. FYI: Any symbol you add to the containers folder will appear as an option in the label legend manager. Kevin
  7. Use a sweep. Draw the profile of the ramp and place a locus at the center of the sweep. Select both objects and then run the sweep command. Kevin
  8. Try this: http://kbase.nemetschek.net/index.php?ToDo=view&questId=104&catId=19 Kevin
  9. As soon as there is any 2D information as part of the object, eg label text, the 3D geometry of the instrument will automatically be suppressed. Kevin
  10. The key to instrumentation is just a group on the page. When you want to update the key you ned to run the command again. There is no way to adjust the default format. Once you are done making changes to the plot, you can simply deit the group and make changes to the layout.
  11. All of the symbols are created in the none class. The Labels are in 'Label-'classes. So there may not be any geometry in the active class to snap to. It should be the same will all the files. The other files probably have the instruments in the None class.
  12. O.K. I'll get it from Jim. If we can reproduce it we can usually fix it, it's the worked yesterday, doesn't work today that's hard to track down. Kevin
  13. Gary, I created a label legend with the Gobo 1 field and had no problem moving the labels. If you can reproduce the problem please send the file and a description of the problem to my attention at bugsubmit@nemetschek.net. Kevin
  14. The record data deosn't show because the symbol is inside of the plug-in object. The data that is shown when the lighting device is selected would be data that is atatched to the lighting device.
  15. Edit the symbol from the resource browser. When you are in symbol edit mode, de-select everything then change the record info in the data tab. Then just exit the symbol.
  16. Are they blank, or is there just no preview? Edit one of the blank textures and see if there is any info or a preview in the editor window.
  17. The data is stored in the light info record attached to the symbol definition. If you change it, it will update the info for all the fixtures. The data is from the manufacture specifications at the time the symbol was created, and if you have been following ESTA standards committee, you will know that how the manufactures measure the light output varies a lot.
  18. No, Kliegel was still in business when computers were invented. They even had a computerized board, the Kliegel Performer II and III. No floppy disk, it used a cassette tape. But, I still don't think you are going to find many symbols for them. Kevin
  19. When you imported from LW you probably mapped the device type field to the Inst Type field. Kevin
  20. No, all fixtures utilize a Spot light type.
  21. You need to apply a non shadow casting texture to the instrument. All of the instruments supplied with Spotlight already have "Default Instrument Texture" applied. Also, the light in emitted from the insertion point of the object, so you may need to apply the "Default Instrument Texture" to your lighting position too. Kevin
  22. If you rotate the text and have adjust fliped text turned on, it will overide the rotation and flip the text back. If you rotated the instrument in the label legend, that will not do anything. The front of the instrument is always pointing to the top of the page in the label legend, no mater how it looks. You can also try the new non-rotation label legend in 12.5.
  23. Make sure the UID is matched to the External ID in LW. This is the one piece of information that links the two applications. Any time the import acn not match LW external ID to a lighting device UID and orphan instrument is created.
  24. Use the data pane of the object info pal to change the name of the viewport object.
  25. Edit the symbol in the "Containers" folder. You can also add new symbols here and they will show up as choices in the label legend manager.
