  1. Well if you wanted to move it after you would just use Ctrl-M to move it by an offset from its current location. If you wanted to move it to an exact location unrelated to its current position you would edit its X,Y,Z in the Object Info Palette.
  2. Got it and confirmed the same here, Illustrator is choking on the EPS exported from Vectorworks 2015. Submitting this as an issue now.
  3. So it isn't that exporting one sheet doesn't export to one PDF (it does even though the option is grey), its that the option caused the PDF to automatically be named appropriately to the single item that was exported to it and that now has to be done manually?
  4. The reason this doesn't occur is that Rotated Plan is considered to be a temporary modeling view and that if you wanted the objects oriented another direction constantly, you would simply rotate the entire drawing directly. Where does this workflow break down? What are the pain points of fully rotating an entire model as opposed to using rotated plan? I'm not asking because I think there are none, I just want to get a good idea of what users are expecting rotated plan to be used for/capable of. There are many issues with it currently, a lot of tools and commands do not function in a rotated plan view, for instance.
  5. You can do this if you click the Data Bar and Edit Group Options button at the top right of the drawing area (The gear) and enable the option "Show Primary, Secondary and cursor location fields" Then you can tab through all the values while moving objects to enter the exact offset distance or coordinates you want to move the object too.
  6. What version of Vectorworks are you using? What operating system? In a test here in Vectorworks 2015 it keeps this setting as expected. With the Line tool active, I change the Line Type, then draw the expected line type. If I leave the tool and select another, use it, then return to the line tool it still draws my selected type.
  7. You should be able to collapse the categories in the resource browser, then close Vectorworks normally, they will then remain this way unless you expand them again. Recent Files will reset to a previous state if Vectorworks crashes or is force closed, is this the case on your machine?
  8. 2015 has been the most solid SP0 release I have been involved in. There are a few issues that users are having, namely exporting back to previous versions and file names with / or \ in the names, but these should be corrected shortly. All of the more serious types of issues, crashing, failing to launch have so far been hardware specific and were usually corrected by upgrading to proper graphics hardware or updating graphics card drivers.
  9. Well Alt is already relegated in those types of tools to allow selection/deselection of objects after the tool has already been activated. Is the wish that Alt should instead toggle the mode while pressed and another hotkey be used for selection? or just that there be a modifier that allows temporarily changing the tool's mode?
  10. No idea how possible this is, I have never used an application that could function half-loaded other than skipping something like the font list loading in Photoshop. I'll see if this is even doable.
  11. I'm glad its been smoother, there are still some issues happening in the background, automatic emails and watch lists are not behaving as expected. Still plugging away at it whenever we get the chance but its elusive.
  12. This was requested a few months ago as well, makes perfect sense. I will add this thread to that case.
  13. They come in to Illustrator CS5 as modifiable paths for me, regardless of which export option I select for EPS Preview options. Tested with exports to EPSF from Vectorworks 2015 on OS X 10.9.5 and Windows 8.1. Could you send me your VWX file as well as the exported EPS files please?
  14. Lemme see if I can get my hands on Illustrator and I will take a look. It looks like the export settings have changed, its possible changing the export to have no preview may give you lines only, where in 2014 you couldn't choose to have no preview at all, but that's a blind guess at first glance.
  15. "Deform To >" makes a lot of sense. I can see a clean UI implementation of letting a user pick an object to be deformed, pick the object for it to be deformed to, then select the points on the one to be deformed against the other. With path-based objects like NURBS curves it would be relatively simple, but I'm going to see how its handled in a few other 3D modeling apps when it comes to mapping solids to surfaces as far as the UI is concerned, I will submit a request shortly.
  16. I believe the closest thing we have to that is Select Coincident Objects, but it is very manual and does not give any sort of batch-removal or simplification options. I find this would be useful after a Trace Bitmap operation as well, as unclean/hand drawn scans trace with a good bit of mess around them. Submitting request now.
  17. What specifically would you like to see? How would you recommend a redesign without voiding the years (in some cases, decades) of experience current users have with the current UI?
  18. Not your fault, restarting should never be a required task on a regular basis. If you come across a way of reproducing this issue, please let me know and I can submit it directly.
  19. Currently there is no solid solution for that working environment that I have come across. The best way to get around it is so create a custom workspace for both monitor setups, switching between them when you change workstations. However, when going from the multi-monitor to single monitor configuration, I believe you have to remember to change the workspace back BEFORE you close Vectorworks prior to doing so, which is cumbersome at best. I have filed many feature requests based upon this, any additional workarounds or users with similar problems please feel free to chime in.
  20. Could you send that PDF to tech@Vectorworks.net please? I can have a look and see if its anything source specific. I have some samples that work smooth and fast and some that experience the lag you're talking about, but the size, quality and source application of the PDF so far don't seem to be related to the issues.
  21. The majority of users I've spoken with have seen excellent stability. There are still some hardware/file-specific crashing and lag facing some, but they're getting narrowed down and corrected as they come. Its going very well. Smoothest release I've been a part of since I started here.
  22. This is possible at least in the US for users that buy directly from us. I am not sure if this policy changes depending upon the distributor and I don't know where you reside currently. check with yours directly to be sure, if you aren't located in the United States: http://www.vectorworks.net/international/
  23. This is indeed in the works! It became pretty obvious that with such a relatively rapid release cycle that this would be useful/indispensable especially for users with heavy customization. The idea being it will automatically transfer anything over that will go without issue and then ask the user what to do about conflicts, tools that no longer exists, plugins that were replaced, etc. I will add this thread to the case.
