So I deleted the ref file, started assembling again, and it was working... Then I was just editing, trimmed a line, and the air photos went to grey boxes. I opened the reference file holding all the air photo images, then cut and pasted in place for the top left side and you will notice its vissible. The other locations should contain air photos. Again it was working, and now after working fro a while it's back. I even just tried shutting everything down, restarting in desperation, and nothing. Any guidance would be appreciated, I am at a loss and frustrated...

Just double checked, everything is set to visible, and in top / plan. The other problem, if I directly import image to base drawing I get this message "Unable to create importer for the file. The system may not have an importer installed or memory may be low" Yet, I am able to import the images to a black new drawing.

I am having trouble adding GEO tiffs to my drawings. I have a base drawing with high res GEO tiffs places in different areas of my project. I want to reference that drawing that only contains the tiffs, into my main map/drawing. I have created a viewport on a working layer, referencing that file, and the tiffs appear as grey boxes. Any ideas?

I have created a site model, and just want to drape the air photo over the site model, something i would do in sketchup. I can get the air photo to drape over the site model (sometimes) but the scale and location of that image is not correct. I have a simple exact area 1000m across and 2000m up, and i have an air photo that has been cropped to exactly 1000pixels by 2000pixels… I have read about and tried the ‘Attribute Mapping Tool’ but each time i use it i get inconsistent results. I get predictable results if i do this to an extruded rectangle, with the Attribute Mapping Tool, i can move it around etc... but not with the site model. Any ideas? angle of line measuring zero as east? can i change to north?
jet replied to jet's topic in General Discussion
True, but what i have is a series of lines that i have to give the length and angle for. Lines that i want to be an angle of 270 degrees are measuring 0. Another example a line that i want to measure 180 degrees is measuring -90. -
I am doing a survey plan, and measureing the angle of lines, i want 0 deg to be north, currently 0 is east. I am sure there is a way to change that, but i can't find it! any help out there would be appreciated. cheers, jim using VW design series 2015 on 2011 15" MBP

Often with files from other CAD sources, there are duplicated lines in the exact location. Is there a way to select duplicates or erase duplicates? cheers, jim vw 2015 design series

Could anyone point me in the right direction, document or tutorial... I want to have a symbol or object that i can drop on the drawing, and it is sized based based on a few variables the user can change. for example a table, that the user can enter the length and width... VW 2015 designer series

Can anyone point me in the right direction, i want to make a series of dynamic symbols... a simple example would be a table. To make a symbol that the width and length are based on variables that can be changed. jim VW 2015 designer series

I have created a site model, i want the index contours labeled. All that is labeled is the 0m contour? what am i doing wrong? please see attached... cheers, jim 15" mbp 2.2 ghz i7 16 gb ram VW design series 2014

yes, but not really a solution. need to have annotations on multiple viewports and sheets. very frustrating... cheers, jim

Please say this has a fix... i come across this a lot, i have a rotated view, and i can not use the collouts, they ONLY work when the view is NOT rotated. In the rotated views, they will not stay horizontal... any ideas? Jim VW 2014 design series - sp 4 MBP 2.2 - i7 with 16g ram with ox 10.9.3
