  1. The position of the text in the section marker is controlled using a control point (AKA grip). Use the control point to adjust the text. Check that the "None" class is visible. The section marker should display.
  2. I understood and was able to reproduce your problem, so you explained fine. It's a bug.
  3. Anders, I've just sent you back an email on this topic. For the others of you following this topic, you might find interesting the KB article on "platform winders" I did some time back: '>Link to KnowledgeBase article on Platform Winders
  4. The render goes transparent because that's what you've got the None class set to. This is apparently a bug. For now, you'll have to use the Style classes (or give your None class some fill.)
  5. For starters, try updating to 12.5.2 or 12.5.3. The "Name already exists" warning is interesting. Does the door use a custom slab?
  6. Title blocks are wtored as symbols in Libraries\Defaults\Drawing Border-Title Blocks\ . Open these files, find the TB that most closely resembles the one you want, duplicate the symbol in that file, and modify the symbol definition. Then save the file, and you will have your new titleblock available to your drawing border.
  7. Are you saving to the local HD or to a server? If so, what kind of server?
  8. It's not a bug that is fixed; no variable offset is possible. However, it could be considered a bug that casements aren't offset to the extent of their jambs as you suggest, as I suspect that is the common condition. Why don't you submit a bug to bugsubmit for this?
  9. It's not a threshold. It's a pair of "lintel" lines created in the Ceiling-Main class. Turn off this class.
  10. The sash/jamb alignment in VW window objects is fixed.
  11. Gideon, this may be an access privileges problem. You should make sure that you have complete read and write privileges to the Plug-ins folder (and everything beneath it.)
  12. Petri, I doubt that you know "the programmer behind" this feature. The DTM was completely re-written by a NNA engineer for VW12. To all: we are looking for wishes for the DTM. Please submit them to the wish list. The more specific you make your wishes, the more likely we are to be able to do them. (e.g. "variable sloping circulinear polygon surfaces" is very useful, whereas "road design" is much less so.) Thanks in advance!
  13. lineweight, you can email me a file that has disappearing stairs and I'll try and diagnose. I'm sure it's something simple -- we have stairs working in sections, no trouble.
  14. domer, I have seen a host of callout problems (which are to be fixed in an upcoming maint. release) but I ahve not seen this. Could you send the malfunctioning VW12.5 file (along with a description of a way to reproduce the problem) to bugsubmit@nemetschek.net?
  15. You should convert the EPSF into an image format (jpg or png) and import it into a Renderworks texture. Then this can be applied to the surface of an object like a decal, which is what I believe you are wanting to do?
  16. Look for this bug to be fixed in an upcoming maintenance release of VW 2008.
  17. The chain extrude with work with just a single profile, also. Everything that you extrude has to be a closed polygon or polyline (just like the error message says). What version are you using?
  18. Window Settings dialog: Data tab: "ID Class" popup
  19. Yes, MacOS X will let you (for some strange reason, since Unix won't) use a slash in the file name, but not a colon. Go figure -- both should be illegal, I think..
  20. StoneCAD (mentioned at the top) supports VectorWorks, although it has a poor user interface (you don't have to mess with AutoCAD, VectorWorks files are part of the install, but you have to dig for them). You can search the forum for StoneCAD and find out more -- it's free.
  21. Please submit this as a bug. Thanks!
  22. greenmeadow, 1. If you had windows arrive at a jobsite unglazed, I believe that =may= be a problem with the window schedule, (or more likely, the contractor), rather than the hatch used on an elevation. 2. I can't speak to the exact staffing of MacWorld, but I do know we consider it more a "consumer" show than a "professional" show (such as AIA or others), and this may have affected the staffing. I do agree that any salesperson should be able to competently demo any of the products to an interested end user. 3. VectorWorks' viewports provide a very flexible way to provide live detail views. They do not take years to learn. With sub-features such as crops, annotation groups, viewing overrides, and advanced viewport options such as lineweight, arrowhead, and text scaling, we'll put our detail plan capabilities up against anyone's. I don't know how you've trained on VectorWorks. There are of course several methods, and different people learn different ways. But I can assure you that "live" detail plans are one thing that VectorWorks does very well, and has only been improved with VectorWorks 2008.
