Hi all,

I have downloaded some plants which have come in as 3D symbols. the 3D symbols has multiple plants within it. When this is opened 2-3 plants are grouped as a Mesh object. Is there a way to separate these plants while maintaining the textures and form?

You can edit the meshes in Blender and export them back to Vectorworks with the texture preserved.  You’ll want to do that via .obj most likely unless you are pretty familiar with the various ways to shuttle things with Blender.

Unfortunately editing a mesh always gives a waring that you lose texture mapping.

Otherwise you could copy the mesh a few times and in edit mode just delete all

faces of other plants, until you have an own mesh for each plant.

So a 3D Mesh editor (e.g. Blender) is required.

I wonder why this happened.

What was the original plant file format you got ?

I think it was either an skp or obj
