DSmith2300
I've noticed that if the HOME / welcome screen is open then I can't just double click a VW file in a folder to open. Does anyone else find this? Slightly irritating... 2 Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
I have not found this to be the case Quote Link to comment
DSmith2300
Mmmm. OK well if anyone has an idea of a setting in either Windows 11 or VW, please let me know. I might look to se if I can just permanently disable that damned interfering HOME screen. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Under Vw Preferences -> Session, you can disable ‘Display Home Screen on Startup’. Edited July 27, 2023 by rDesign 1 Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
I just posted the same issue - also windows 11. 2 Quote Link to comment
DSmith2300
Yup, Thanks. Found that setting and checked it. I don't mind the home screen as such, it's just the lack of ability to open a file from my windows file explorer that bugs me. 1 Quote Link to comment

I agree - I actually like the home screen as a quick "recent file" list and even check out the "what's new" and the "messages area". But not being able to open a file from explorer is just not good. Vectorworks, please fix this. 1 Quote Link to comment
_James
Whilst I like the home screen concept, on MacOS it also has a few shortcomings. Hopefully these are improved in subsequent versions/service packs Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
It would be nice if it opened a bit more quickly... It would be good if in the 'Learn' tab there were notifications for new videos posted to the University. 'What's New' + 'Sample Files' on the 'Home' tab are a bit of a waste of space. 1 Quote Link to comment

Perhaps random tool tips would be nice. I'm always keen to learn new snippets which might help my workflow, but don't often have time to delve casual learning for the sake of it.
