0 Christiaan
A very longstanding wish of the community: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/12404-nested-classes-and-layers-in-navigator/ https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/16256-ability-to-group-layerssheet-layers-like-classes/ https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/56819-organising-grouping-sheet-and-design-layers/ https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/60380-collapsable-sheet-and-layer-folders/ https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/87753-group-layerssheets-and-viewports/ And I'm sure this isn't everything. 3 Quote Link to comment
0 TomKen
When I have a project with lots of design layers I use layer filters. This give you lots of flexibility because you can create as many filters as you want, like all first floor layers, or Structural layers only, or layers that start with North etc. 2 Quote Link to comment

Are you saying you have layers with a hierarchical structure? I tried and it does not work for me, and I checked the Vectorworks help, and it only talks about hierarchical structure available for classes. Please show us how you group your layers? 0 Matt Overton
There is no user interface advantage to doing it. We use the hierarchy to keep everyone on the team applying objects in right locations for various drawings produced over life of the job without back tracking. helps with handling multiple buildings on same site with level changes. not to dissimilar to how stories handles layers having the UI take that and apply the same rules and features as classes hierarchy does would be massive. by ready I mean we are working like it exists even if it doesn’t. 1 Quote Link to comment
