@JuanP I've had this happen before from time-to-time on the Forum where I cannot see a link in someone's post, as in THIS post by @Pat Stanford. I remember it also happened for me in a post from @Matt Panzer a few months ago... Instead of seeing the link they posted, it just says the following: Any idea what is causing this? Is it just me that this is happening to? I am logged in to the Forum. I think I have only seen it happen in posts by Moderators, if that's of any help in diagnosing. Thanks.

Since yesterday whenever I double-click on an image I've attached to a post, instead of getting the options to edit the image I am getting this message: Anyone else getting the same? Is this a known issue @JuanP? Thanks

It seems that currently it's not possible to upload JPGs to include in posts. See screenshot below (which I had to convert from JPG to PNG to be able to upload it).

A while back I noticed some Vectorworks employees here have cool images in their signature, like their VWX certifications. example: However, I do not have the ability to add images. Why is that? Not that it is a big deal, but I actually had a prospective client ask me "if you are actually Vectorworks certified, why don't you have a badge on the forum?". I explained it away with "Vectorworks employees have superpowers that mere mortals can only hope to gain one day." Then, I had to quickly take the Vectorworks Landmark test today to "prove" my abilities. But it did get me thinking.... why can't users on the forum have the same signature privileges as employees? This is a forum largely supported by the non-employee users...

There's some kind of bug when using the Insert Code button when making a post. If that code contains C h r() in it (without the spaces), submitting the post will send you to a 403 Forbidden page, and when double-clicking the code block to edit it, you will get an error message.

Hi I guess this is a somewhat Catch 22 question, since I can't find if this have been asked before 😃 I just want to understand how I can search the forum better, since I find it hard to find relevant information quite often, and also get several hundreds of results where some aren't even relevant. Would be great to search this forum better. Many thanks! Martin

Why do some areas' landing pages look different from the others? Wishlist, Known Issues, Feedback, Troubleshooting, and possibly some others show "Votes" and "answers" as opposed to the time and source for the most recent response. Is there a reason for this? I like the ability to see how recent a response has been posted, but i suspect someone needs the functionality of the votes being displayed.

Q: Is it possible to rearrange the order reactions appear? Reason: I sometimes accidentally give people a “thumbs down” when responding in my phone. This happens because the “thumbs down” is the first option when you click on the reaction button, and phones being the imperfect interface they are, it’s easy to misclick. here’s what it looks like. Note how “inappropriate “is at the top, it would be great if “thumbs down” was right under that. Then you would know when people are really hating on you instead of accidentally doing so 🙂

@JimWcould you have a look to see if there are any ways to add bookmarking for specific posts within the forum? Every now and then I come across posts that I'd like to save for easy recall, little gems like this: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/53072-large-files-on-v-2018/&tab=comments#comment-266265 The reason I'd like bookmarking within the forum software rather than using an external bookmark solution is that URLs can change over the years with forum upgrades, so internal bookmarks are more likely to remain in place over the years.

I want to share a suggestion to enhance the user experience on our forum. I have noticed that there is currently no dedicated space for discussing and asking questions about the videos, webinars, and tutorials available at Vectorworks University. I propose creating a new section on the forum specifically for comments and discussions about this type of content. In this section, users would have the opportunity to clarify doubts, share experiences, and even discuss features from older versions that have been improved or relocated. These posts would be linked to the VW University videos, allowing viewers to find help posts for specific videos easily. This initiative would provide a more collaborative and enriching environment for the Vectorworks Forum and Vectorworks University user community. Thank you in advance for your attention. Being new to 2024 I posted something that. I do not need to ask any longer, it actually doesn't make sense. How can I delete or change it?

How do I hide / turn off the pinned contant?, I see it every time I visit, I know it exists, none of it is releveant to what I do so how do I make it go away? as I really just want to see questions and topics of which I can seen nothing without scrolling.

There are very often troubleshooting threads started by newly signed-up forum users, which have the username as the thread title. There must be something in the sign-up process that is causing this to happen. If threads don't have meaningful titles, they are less likely to get responses or show up in future searches by people trying to solve similar issues.

Since the "Forum" subforum was created all the threads below have been posted (or moved to) here by mistake. I suspect because people simply see the name "Forum". So can we change the name to "Forum Feedback"? Hopefully that will drastically cut down on people posting here by mistake. Can a moderator also please move these threads to the appropriate subforums? Something I've always wished we had is a Wiki area of the forum that the community could use to create its own resources. Perhaps by way of the Pages feature of Invision Board? But to be successful it would need to be open Wiki style of creation and editing rather than a top-down bureaucratic process, and the problem with the Pages feature in Invision Board is that it doesn't have any moderating features that I can see. An example of what such a feature could be used for is to take a thread like this, distilling and elaborating on the answers to create a page explaining all the different resources one might encounter on the internet and how they relate to creating Textures in Vectorworks:

On my machine, the normal layout seems to end up with the Insert Other Media button vertically above the Submit button on posts. Often when I am posting, especially a response, the Submit button has scrolled off the bottom of the screen. If I am going quickly, I often fail to scroll down far enough and hit the Insert Media button. Then I have to close the dialog that pops up before ending the correct button. I would like to see the button moved somewhere, maybe all the way to the left edge of the media box. This would make me less likely to accidentally hit it. I probably only attach media to 1 in 10 posts, so having this button slightly less accessible would not be a problem (for me.) Anyone agree?

Can we have the ability to add Tags to posts in all subforums? I can add Tags to people's posts in some subforums but not others (this forum subforum for instance).

Recently I got invited to a private group and now I can't find it. It seems that there is no link to the Group Directory. It would make sense to place a link in a menu or somewhere.. since there are also some public groups.

For the life of me, I can not find how I can change my computer equipment profile associated with my posts. Could someone please point the way.

I'd post a picture of the error message, BUT I CAN'T POST PICTURES. It's been over a year since I first reported this. I've submitted support requests, and sent messages to forum mods. I can submit VWX files, but not jpegs. I find this extremely annoying, and it makes the forum less useful. For example I'd like to post a picture of a dialog box where I have a question about a setting, but I can't. Please Please Please fix this . Error code as scene on my screen "Sorry, and unknown server error occurred when uploading this file (error code: -200)" I've tried this on multiple browsers with different security settings.

The Wishes Granted sub-forum hasn't had any posts added to it for about 5 years now. It needs somebody actively managing this and moving posts every time there's an update to Vectorworks. But rather than pay somebody to do this it would be far better in my opinion to let us users do it. The way I would organise this is to get rid of the "Wishes Granted" sub-forum and handle it with Tags ("wishes granted"). Then let users (or a subset of users based on a certain level of Reputation) add Tags to other people's threads**. Many hands make light work. Even if we get it wrong sometimes it's no big deal; it's easily fixed and sure beats the current situation, which is that the "Wishes Granted" sub-forum is out of date by 5 years. ** in fact the ability to add Tags to other peoples posts in general—not just Wishes, any threads—would be a positive thing in my opinion. We could help organise a lot of older posts this way and make it much easier to retrieve information.
