hollister design Studio
I hope this is a quick fix! Almost all the landscape areas I've created come in with 'greyed out' class attribution in the OIP and the class assigned to a class that has nothing to do with my planting workflow... And if I create a LA in a new blank file, it creates these layers (in this example "L-SOLID-GC-Mulch") when they are non-existent. Why? What am I doing wrong? If I use a style from the VW library (like 'purple purple perennial mix') I don't have a greyed out / preassigned class - but when I try and compare LA styles I can't find any settings that show class layer designation. 2 Quote Link to comment
Nico_be
Probably default class assigned to default object. Juste like DTM default class? Edited May 17, 2021 by Nico_be Quote Link to comment
Yonina
Same issue happened to me. when I duplicated the Landscaping Area Style from other file, and edit in Resource Manager the class OPT then it won't turn grey ... Quote Link to comment

Okkie, I think I figure out how to fix this @@hollister design Studio So, after having those Landscape Area Style created then we could find them in our Resource Manager, we could right click on the Landscape Area Style and Choose "Plug-in Object Style Options" then you just need to click on the Arrow sign to make Class adjustable. CLICK IT! TURN IN TO THIS Let me know if this works!!!! 🙂 3 Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
@Yonina Thank you for finding this! I can't tell you how many time I went to the 'Edit Style...' button on the OIP thinking I just must have missed the tab with the Class "by style or by instance" button! I never thought that they would only be accessible from the resource manager. Now I know there is sometimes somehow a difference between a plug-in objects "style" and it's "plug-in object style"... hollister design Studio
Two years later and I just had to search for this post again. It really makes no sense to me that this setting is not on the 'edit style' menu. Shouldn't BOTH the "Edit Style/Landscape area Style" menu and the "Plug-in Object Style Options" menu be accessible from the OIP? ...especially as you can't right click on a landscape style and open it directly in the resource menu, you have to search for it. 1 Quote Link to comment

This is common to all PIOs (+ symbols) + has been the subject of much discussion. Others have requested the same as you (assess PIO Style Options from OIP) whilst I'd be happy right-clicking on an object (in the drawing) + accessing them. @Matt Panzer said it was under consideration but not sure what the latest is... Do a search + i think there are wishlist items for this. 4 Quote Link to comment

Honestly, 5 years on, I still miss Autodesk Maya's Outliner --- you could access EVERYTHING from that info palette. Quote Link to comment

I guess because right-clicking is how you already access the Plug-in Object Options, having an additional 'Plug-in Object Style Options...' choice here seems the most logical thing to do, but I've no objection to a button in the OIP as well: the more ways to get to these settings the better really! At the moment I right-click on the object, select 'Locate Plug-in Style in Resource Manager', right-click on the resource, select 'Plug-in Object Style Options'... That's a lot of clicking! 4 Quote Link to comment

I would recommend upvoting and commenting on the two wishlist forum threads @Tom W. linked to above. Quote Link to comment
