hollister design Studio 30 Posted November 25, 2020 I keep getting 'edges' on my site models. Yellow Highlighter: I'm trying to use the split tool to clean up the edge of the topo lines before I convert, but this still seems to happen often. Thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? Ways to fix this? Should I just crop the edge out? Here are the original topo 3D polylines: 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tom W. 139 Posted November 25, 2020 Good question. I've had this too + wondered why it was happening. I just cropped the offending edge/s out like you say but be good to know why it happens + if anything can be done to prevent it Quote Share this post Link to post
jpccrodrigues 22 Posted November 25, 2020 Hi, You either edit your site model crop or you add some 3d loci in the recreate from site model source tool. It should work out Quote Share this post Link to post
Tom W. 139 Posted November 25, 2020 Hi @jpccrodrigues so pretty much what I was doing already + no trick to prevent it happening in first place. I can live with that! Thanks Quote Share this post Link to post
zoomer 1,012 Posted November 25, 2020 Yes, I also just crop a bit inside. Generally you can fixit manually of course by following the edge flow and adding a few missing or deleting a few redundant points and such. Sometimes I have that ambition - but this is basically just pointless 🙂 Just crop it a bit off and you are fine. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
hollister design Studio 30 Posted November 25, 2020 I figured - tried to fix it and made it even worse! Cropping it is. Thanks everyone. Quote Share this post Link to post
CipesDesign 148 Posted November 26, 2020 Agree with all of the above. For most single family residential sites I ask the surveyor to include extra area in the topographic data so that I can crop out the weird random anomalies at the edge(s). 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
