Break Line Tool Defaults

Hoping someone can help. The default setting for the width is 3/8" and height is 3/4" which is way to big for what i need.

I modified these to .1 and .2 in the Plug-in manager but whenever I use the tool it still gives me the default size. Any info on how to implement this change?

Tried restarting. Also deleted the old tool and added it again. Is there an area for modified tools I need to add to my menu instead?

If you run the Purge command on your file, check the box that says Special Records Formats. That is where the tools settings information is normally stored. Then delete any item that refers to the break line.

 

I just changed my breakline settings in the Plug-in maager and it seems to work well. Are you still on VWX 2013?

Thanks markdd, I tried that and it did not work. There were (0) items associated with Special Record Formats that could be purged.

 

No, we recently upgraded to 2019. Perhaps I need to update my profile !?

We use the "Breaker_v1" custom tool instead of the built-in VW breakline tool.

I think it is superior.  It allows for double breaks and uses a fill between the breaks to look correct.

 

I can't remember if it is a paid plugin or free ... or even where I got it. 

If anyone else can remember where it came from, let me know .... if it's free, I would be happy to post it here.

That is a great little plugin. I downloaded it off this very forum some time back, so I hope it was free! The plugin vectorscript calls up the author as: "dbelfm@sonic.net".

Fantastic tool! Vectorworks needs to buy this and replace the terrible existing Break Line tool.

I use this tool all the time and it's such a time saver.

 

Has anyone else had issues where occasionally the size of the breaks/jogs will suddenly be miniscule? I've found this happens when the Breakline is within Viewport Annotations; it's almost like the break size is recomputed as being in World Units instead of Page Units. (Referring the Break Size Pts parameter).

 

It doesn't happen when the Breakline is first drawn, but rather at some point later when I come back to the viewport I see the breaks are tiny. Forcing a redraw of the Breakline object results in the correct size once again.

 

This doesn't occur in 1:1 viewports, which is why I think it has something to do with the scale of the viewport applying twice or something....

 

I don't know enough about about scripting to be able to dive into the code myself, unfortunately.
