Skia_D
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of these white line edges around "door openings" which show up in various RW modes (see attached image). That's a Door object in a wall set as a "Door Opening" (uncased drywall opening). Thanks. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
See this thread The lines are created so that the opening can be selected. If you set the Interior Jamb class and hide that class then the lines will disappear. HTH Quote Link to comment
Skia_D
Thanks, Tim. Works for me. Interesting that something like this hasn't been fixed for 4 versions worth of VW. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Based on Dave Donley's response that I posted above, I believe that it is 'working as designed' and therefore Vw doesn't see it as something that needs fixing. But I think it does need fixing, or at least a better explanation in the documentation, as it sure confused me the first time I saw those white lines. If Vw had a true 'NonPlot' class - meaning a class that does not print - then this feature would not be a problem, as the selectable lines marking the opening could be assigned to a 'NonPlot' class which would never print. bc
Except that you may not want them showing for presentation. Quote Link to comment
rDesign
I agree. My suggestion would only work if there were truly a non-plot class, which there is currently not. Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Interesting that Windoor has no line and VW-door does. Maybe need to take a leaf out of Windoor. No pun intended. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I tend to use "Wall Recesses" to make door openings in walls that should not have doors Quote Link to comment
AlanW
Nice one Zoomer, Edited August 2, 2016 by Alan Woodwell Quote Link to comment
rDesign
I don't understand Vectorworks' stated reasoning that the white lines at the edges of openings are required so that you can select it. Aside from the fact that WinDoor's openings do not have these lines, other objects like Section Lines have some sort of invisible region which you can select. Quote Link to comment
