top of wall offset

working on a foundation. I have a 6" conc. wall 22" tall that forms the perimeter of a square building. I have a couple of openings on one side for overhead doors.

The top of the conc. wall will be 6" above my floor slab. In plan view I want to be able to show the transition. How should I "cut away" or block out these openings.

Much like inserting the doors in the wood portion of the wall. The wall gets blocked out at the door opening.

Do I insert doors at these locations? So there would be repeat doors on top of each other. Seems like it would create a disaster somewhere.

How do you veteran VW users do it?

For the look in 2d I just put a 2d polygon with a white or 5%gray fill. This will get me through the 2d plan production.

Draw a rectangle over the wall the width and location of the opening. It Should be >= the width of the wall.

Right-click>Clip Surface.

This creates a Feature in Wall.

Set it to be 14" high 0" from the Top of the Wall.

I'm not sure how Pat did it because his movie wouldn't work on my computer but I usually just cut the foundation wall on both sides of the opening and change the wall height. Then I insert the door in the wood framed wall above with a negative z height to move it down into the notch I created.
