VincentCuclair
Don't know if it's only with me but each time i post and hit Submit or Change the page starts to load and then gets stuck loading at around 25%. When i then press Change or Submit again a message comes up saying the post is being submitted and the buttons are inactive. When i the exit the brouwser or reload the community board all is fine and the post is there......?! Edited August 22, 2014 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
There is a definite lag when posting. Its only started happening recently. It hangs and eventually completes the post and updates. Kevin Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Thanks for pointing that out. I thought it was only my computer. I'll ask about it? Quote Link to comment
bc
Yes I just posted and it hung as described. Then I immediately edited the post and it didn't hang on the edit submission. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted August 22, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 22, 2014 I get the same issue in all browsers randomly throughout the day. I've informed IT and they're going to be taking a look at it. It happened shortly after a server update. Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Adding to this... I'm having multiple issues: 1) A ton of hit-and-miss on getting notices from areas I'm watching - more "miss" than anything. 2) Like others, the long pauses or even locks after clicking "Submit." These issues seem to be relatively recent - within the last few months or so. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted August 22, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 22, 2014 They started happening around the update. The Who's Online section had been broken for awhile and began functioning again around the same time, in addition to a few admin features. I will keep you all posted if/when I hear anything back. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 2, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 2, 2014 IT is going to attempt a fix today at 4PM EST. The board may go down temporarily while this is being done. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 3, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 3, 2014 I have not seen this lag again today since they began troubleshooting yesterday evening. If anyone else still is, please let me know along with what time of day (unless its just all the time) the delays were happening and for about how long it lagged for before it finished posting. Kevin McAllister
The lag seems to be back and worse than ever. (It lagged so long on this post that I got a "504 Gateway Time-out. The server didn't respond in time." page.) Kevin Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 23, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 23, 2014 Same here, working with IT on tracking it now. It seems to be worse in the morning and better towards the end of the day (EST), but that also corresponds with concurrent users online so we aren't sure whats doing it yet. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I get only 10% about of my notifications. I checked settings and all watched threads are set to immediately. The forum in general works really well for me here. Just some lag when posting. Edited September 23, 2014 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 23, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 23, 2014 I can't get the Watch system to work for me at all recently, for either users or threads. I've tested in a number of browsers and on a number of OSes, it definitely seems to be server-side. The delay when posting actually seems to be an error in responding back to the user, as when i check my posts times in the log, they are listed as being posted a few seconds after I click submit, not nearly a minute later as the lagging delay would indicate. zoomer
Each time I create or answer a post I get a delay after sending. (20-30 seconds) I can live with that. But as long as the delay happens I can't even open any other site of the Forum. That means the Forum is completely blocked. I don't get all notifications (5% ?) of my watched Forums and Topics. Even all set to "Immediately". I can live with that. But now even the Forums start site doesn't show me that are new unread posts in the Subforums. If I open a Subforum I may find then lots of unread Threads. This way its really tedious to find my own Threads and Posting. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 30, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 30, 2014 Its bad. IT is still trying to track it, another thread about it here: https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=202605&Searchpage=1&Main=40586&Words=forum+lag&Search=true#Post202605 I get the same issues here as well. I use the Active Topics section to track new posts for the time being. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 30, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 30, 2014 Double and triple posts are also a symptom of this delay. If it happens to you, don't worry, I will delete the duplicates I come across if you no longer can. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I have seen these triple posts too. And was happy to see them disappear again. Didn't know that had to be done manually by you, so thanks even more to keep the Forum readable. Should have posted in the existing thread though  Quote Link to comment

zoomer
But now even the Forums start site doesn't show me that are new unread posts in the Subforums. If I open a Subforum I may find then lots of unread Threads. Looks like the UNREAD marking works again on Forum Main Page Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted October 2, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 2, 2014 It hasnt gone for good so far. It seems worst around the mornings EST, then lightens up throughout the day with random spikes. I am still working constantly with the head of IT to figure it out. So far we have changed the server 3 times, moved it back to an internal test machine here, disabled the proxy and reset just about everything tied to the forums and no dice. Still hammering at it though, if anything changes I will announce it in addition to doing a little jig. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
The last days the Forum works really well for me ! I get my notifications, unread marks and no lags when psting. Great ! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted October 14, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 14, 2014 I'm glad its been smoother, there are still some issues happening in the background, automatic emails and watch lists are not behaving as expected. Still plugging away at it whenever we get the chance but its elusive. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 11, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 11, 2014 We are now actively looking into a replacement for the existing forum and kbase systems that will not only provide fixes for the current issues, but also allow new features such as "Official" or "Best" answers for questions previously asked, easier video and image embedding in posts, mobile device access, superior search functions and user voting/feedback.
