0 Jershaun
+1 Full roof features are a must for BIM. Gutters, downpipes, fascias, barge baords, etc. Not only to have these features but also to have full control of them as well and NOT based on a rigid plug-in system where a programmer thinks they should be positioned and the sizes they should be or the profile they should be, etc. Quote Link to comment
0 taoist
I agree. Other Software I use has the option for gutters as well as the downspouts, A & B elbows and such For now, guess we need to create a profile for K style and commercial style gutters and use EAP. Create symbols for the elbows, maybe have sizes based on overhang? Create a symbol for the downspout itself. A plug in for this would be great. taoist Quote Link to comment
0 Lec
So how come there are no gutters or down pipes? Will VW actually give us an answer? Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
+1 from me. Just ran into this myself yesterday. Good to see we're at a point where we're all starting to ask for more object tools as opposed to having to bang on about fixing the existing windows tool or something. Quote Link to comment
0 Itchy
Not a gutter tool but a tool to easly make a gutter Taken from another post of mine: There is also the framing member tool, make a 2D polygon of the capping, and then change the type to custom profile and you have your roof capping with all the options of the framing member tool. A workaround still though as you can just click on the roof and say i want this gutter and it generates it where you want it. Quote Link to comment
0 Bryan G.
A gutter tool would be great. Even for a Landscape Designer with that infamous stormwater management and water reuse, environmental thing going on. No, seriously it would be great to document and design where to place and then be able to run drain products from there. Quote Link to comment
0 VincentCuclair
Though I agree with the need, this really needs to be addressed at a whole different level! My first reaction is 'oh no' not another half baked tool that gets us part of the way, My second reaction is: ....the technology and tools are already in place! = Extrude along path! Just enhance this tool to cope with these type of demands! It should be a natural development (one would think) to make a simple adjustment where the 'extrude along path tool' automatically uses the roof edge as an (editable) path and have a library of gutter profiles to choose from! The same applies for trims, why not make the 'extrude along path tool', sense the door/window edges and use these as the path, + trim profile library!? The slab tool is a nice advancement why not the same type of advancement for roof faces, it's basically the same thing. The technology is there but it needs to be implemented/utilized more rigorously. Come on NVWs! you really need to start thinking along the lines of your users not only as engineers! More intuition! I know you are capable, time to start delivering........ Quote Link to comment
0 taoist
I agree! We have been asking for years. I am being brash here but let's get with the program as the expression goes. Other software does it. I believe that VW needs to listen to the end user more. Will keep asking. taoist Quote Link to comment

Which doesn't reflect well on what you think of NV's ability to design user interfaces. I'd like to see a specialised tool because it's more intuitive but I share your reservations that it would end up being half-baked. Quote Link to comment
