ccroft
...used to be on the main page under support. It doesn't seem to be there anymore, tho it's still available in the site-map under support. Where did it go? Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
The link is now "Community Board" under the "Community" menu. This is one of many upcoming updates to the Board in the near future. Refresh your browser and notice that the header image now says "Community Board". Quote Link to comment
D Wood
Jeffrey I have refreshed my Browser as suggested, and had to Log-in again of course. If changes are planned for the Board, could someone please take a look at why I have to Log-in twice before the Board accepts it? It was the same under the Tech Board setup as well. Ozzie
Bugs me too - why do we have to log in twice? Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
I also have this problem at work, but not at home, So I think it's computer related. Quote Link to comment
IanH
I have had this exact same issue recently on a different forum too, but one that uses the same bb software. Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Try erasing/deleting the cookies for the Board from your browser and then, re-navigate to and login. Quote Link to comment
D Wood
Jeffrey Thank you for the suggestion. After Restart however, going on the Board site generated 2 cookies, which I deleted. Then my first first log-in failed as usual, but generated 7 cookies. The 2nd log-in succeeds, whether or not I delete the 7 cookies. Are you suggesting I set my Mac to deny all cookies? Ray Libby
There is a My Cookies link at the bottom of the page. I have had problems a couple of times and when I expire the cookies the problems have gone away. Quote Link to comment
D Wood
Ray Thank you, that worked! Now to wait & see if it is permanent. Quote Link to comment
cad@sggsa
I have set myne to auto log in every time I open the page. I did get a bit worried and slightly frustrated the first time as I was looking for "Tech Forum". Opened each option and thus came accross the correct link. Would have been good to maybe recive a message from Tech Admin via email to inform us of the changes being made. I also feel we as the USERS of this forum could have been consulted beforehand to have our insets on the changes as we will be the ones useing it in the end, so if changes were to be made to improve the forum we could have had a say in what the changes could be....Discussed possibilities and different layouts. Jeffrey W Ouellette
Sorry Carl, The web master and mistress got a little out in front of us. There will be some further changes and announcements made around the end of this year, beginning of next. Some of them will be purely cosmetic, to align this site with the main website. Some changes will involve adding more marketing/PR/peer communication, so users can be more easily aware of resources, meetings, and events in their geographic locations. Some changes will be about clarifying the mission of this board and further formalizing some details that have gone on unattended for far too long. Some changes may take longer because they will need feedback from users. I don't think there is any need for great concern, but we will give people the chance to chime in when the updates/upgrades are ready. Quote Link to comment
cad@sggsa
Thanks Jeffrey Well this should be a good add then.... http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=24291&Number=114274#Post114274 Quote Link to comment
mr. iagea
I used to have this trouble with having to log in twice on this forum. Ever since switching from Safari to Firefox 3, the problem has disappeared, so I'm inclined to believe that it was a browser-related issue (for me, anyway). I have noticed other idiosyncrasies with Safari. I think Firefox adheres to the DOM much better. Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Actually Carl, this is an viable option that is currently turned off. If a number of users found it useful, we could give it a try. I need to check with the IT/MIS Overlord to see that it is OK. Quote Link to comment
cad@sggsa
Mr Iagea I had the same problem on a different forum, but where the users on Firefox had problems. Did get sorted out though. Thanks Jefferey I notice now that on the main page to the right there is an indication of this and that it shows where that users is busy. Quote Link to comment
D Wood
I had to Restart, and Log-in has taken 2 attempts. I could clear out My Cookies, but that is just as inconvenient as logging in twice. I like the Who's Online though. Quote Link to comment
Kelly19
can somebody help me with a question? bringing in 2008 eductaional version drawings wihtout the watermark on a new 2009 version cheers Quote Link to comment
gmm18
You need to talk directly to nna tech support. It is there for a reason, and would require some legitimate explanation for them to remove it. Quote Link to comment
