opening and closing windows and doors in viewports

There is so much we can do with viewport that it seems odd why we don't have the option to open and close individual windows and doors in different 3D viewports. For example we could show doors to the garden open but the side door closed, downstairs windows closed and upstairs windows open.

Also shutters could be shown open and closed as opposed to have two different symbols, classed separately to be turned on and off

Yep!  While it's certainly possible to make this happen, every variation of geometry shown in each viewport would require the object to generate duplicate geometry and viewports would then look at the desired geometry.  The basic technical idea is similar to our Detail Levels but it will cause increased file size and possible performance issues.  I'm not saying it will never happen but I am saying it would not be so trivial to implement.

Yes.

 

I would like to be able to override the object parameters per viewport. Doors open in 3d mouse maze plan views, but closed in elevations, sections, and details.
