Lighting symbol

Hi, I'm working on Spotlight Vectorworks and some of the lights that I can't find in the resource manager like Patt 743 1k Fresnel etc. How should I create one by myself or where can I find some resources for that?

I have some of the old Strand Symbols. What do you need?

Do you have strand SLs and fresnels? I'm not sure if they have PCs but honestly everything is appreciated!

Hello,

If you want some shapes please find them in this Vectorworks file that I enclose. They're 2D only symbols, no record attached. Just do a Modify>Convert>Convert to Group to get the geometry. Then follow Justin's advice on turning them into Lighting Devices.

Thanks for your advice and help! I would love to open the file and have a look but I'm not sure why I can't open it. My Vectorworks is still in 2021 so maybe your version is newer?

Try these for size. It is quite a few years since I used most of these but you may find them useful....

 

These have been back saved to 2021. The Record formats are very current, so you will need to allow your 2021 file to overwrite the Record formats as you import them. Otherwise, they should be ok.

Ah I thought so!

Mark's symbols are much much better than the 2D only ones I posted. Lovely. Brings back memories of the great and some not so great (ie more recent) Strand offerings! Stick with Mark's generous offering. The 3D is wonderful.

Hi,

 

I tried to open the file you shared in VW2024 design suite and all I see is an empty design layer.

I checked the classes and everything is visible

Layer options are Show/Snap others

The OIP data tab shows some light information(plug type and temp)

 

I downloaded and opened like any other file and got the this file was created in an older blah blah blah

 

Not sure what I'm missing here

Have you looked in the resource manager? The symbols should all be there.
