  1. If you have a worksheet on your drawing and you wish to delete it from the page, just select it and delete it..... If you wish to delete it from the file, click on the worksheet. to determine its name, look in the OIP (object info palatte). Once you know its name, go into the rescource browser and work your way down to worksheets, find the one you wish to delete and control click on it (mac), and select delete.
  2. Go up to the classes button at the top of the dwg, select 'classes', and set all classes as visible..... the objects should all be visible now.... The ones that have 'reappeared' are in a class that was previously set as 'invisible'
  3. Arch.Ken, Thanks for the double line / convert to roof / for the fascias I do skylight wells and sometimes rafters that way, but hadn't thought about fascias... I set the roof thickness at the thickness of the trusses plus plywood, and then set the fascias around the perimeter... I do a lot of sections, and it simplifies them immensely.... as for the soffits, it seemed that an option on the roof tool would make them simple as well.... I know learning Vectorworks takes practice... Ive only been using it since the first Minicad ... but there is forever more to learn.. I just thought it might be easier to make it an option on the roof tool.
  4. The mullion widths and depths can be controlled prior to going custom, in the window setting file...Under Parts, Mullions and Sash. You can adjust them there, and then set your regular custom standards in the sash operation,'custom', 'custom options'. Something else.... when I took a basic 4040 window, that was stand alone and not inserted in a wall, and I went through the making of a custom window as described previously, it worked perfectly.... when I took that same basic window and inserted it into a wall and attempted to make it custom, it crashed every time...... I will bugsubmit this
  5. Brian, That message only means that the plug in ' renderworks camera north' which was at some time installed into your workspace, is no longer available... feel free to save the editor anyway.... you will be missing that command, though. best luck
  6. Dont know a number.... I just sent an email with the following Hello all, I submitted this a while ago and finally bought OZcad to fix the problem until you did.... never heard a response. I open a new blank file, drew a wall, inserted a window, and tried to make it a custom triple sash, 2046 sh, 3046 fixed, 2046 single hung..... start with an 88" opening...go to custom sash options, select three columns, set and lock the first at 24" wide, set the third at 24" wide... the window goes haywire..... crashes every time..... makes an interesting variety of end products, different every time. Best Luck Michael Eschenbach 785 N. Spend-a-buck Dr. Inverness, Fl., 34453 Hm,Fx,Office; 352-344-5571
  7. so let me get this straight, you create a wall that is ie... 2x8.. and trace it around the roof edge, and texture or shade it and use 3d reshape to make it trace the gable ends.... And then you create a 3d polygon to go under the overhangs, and cut and whack it at the corners where they join, both inside and outside.... Is that right?
  8. Damon, I have to agree.. I opened a new blank file, drew a wall, inserted a window, and tried to make it a custom as you stated..... crashes every time..... makes an interesting variety of end products, different every time.. Whats up, I dont know.. I bug submitted this 6 months ago with no response... maybe they think it works? who knows... I will bug submit it again.
  9. Don't forget that on the OIP there's a little "Reverse Direction" button which can flip the Profile from the inside to the outside on curves. Where is this... I dont show a 'reverse direction button on my oip for extrude along path objects? Please explain
  10. There is a customization in VW for this... open your 'Workspace Editor' in the file menu. click on 'Misc. Keys' Select the keys you wish to use for the mode groups 1-6..... I use 1,2,3,4,5,6 for these as it is easy to remember. Click ok and exit the editor..... Hope that does the job
  11. Is there a way to simply break a large number of referenced files with one keystroke or minimal keystrokes?
  12. been using VW since early minicad days and never knew that tip..... thanks so much
  13. Vectorworks does not at this time have a window door combo that is extensive. It can handle doors with sidelites easily. Double click on the door. when the preferences panel opens, go to 'Parts', 'Lights', to select which you want..... Transoms can be done in the 'General' Section, by clicking transom and sizing it. If you need specialty mulled units, take a look at Ozcad in australia.... He has an addon that is quite wonderful at all those items.... as well as windows around corners and such. best of luck
  14. it would be nice if the roof had a fascia option, such that a 1x6,8,10 or 2x 6,8,10 could be party of the edge detail, with separate texturing for that item. A soffitt option would also be nice.
  15. it would be nice also if you could make it read from the left or the right by choice.
  16. for the record, I have been using Batch Print with a Designjet 500 and a Designjet 130nr without problems to date, 2 meg memory, VW12.0.1, G5 dual, although it did flake the other day when I tried to print a 26 meg file.... by the way.... if you have imported .jpg files on the drawing, and you have designated it with a 'no fill' instead of a 'solid fill' from the 'Attributes Palatte', then the file size will quadruple or quintuple.
  17. Repairing disk permissions is done using 'Disk utility' In the Applications folder, click on 'Utilities' In Utilities, click on 'Disk Utility'. Once open, go to the left hand side and select the drive you wish to check/repair. Click on 'repair disk permissions'. This can be done while the computer is running.... very safe. (you can also use the same general procedure as a general system repair by starting the computer up from the 'startup disk' and, using the same steps, click on 'verify/repair disk' happy trails
  18. Windows... wish list item.... it would be nice to have 'glazing style 1-3' in the 'class' section of special classes. It would also be nice to have "window glazing" as one of the 'parts' in the special classes section. Doors... it would be nice if when one changed from a glass door to a panel door, the 'int panels' and 'ext panels' would convert to 'Style 1' from 'Glazing-Style 1'... it works the other way when changing from panel to glass thanks
  19. I agree... wish list item.... it would be nice to have 'glazing style 1-3' in the special classes. It would also be nice to have glazing as one of the 'parts' in the special classes section.
  20. I am using VW 12.0.1 on a G5 dual, as well as a powerbook.... i have set the VW preferences to save every 5 minutes, with the 'confirm before save' checked.... on neither machine has it ever confirmed... Anyone else out there have this problem....?? I believe it causes occasional crashes when I attempt a keystroke at the same time that the machine is doing a save, because most of my crashes come approx. 5 minutes from the last save.
  21. I agree, Dont cut it.... I use it daily as a better means, and easier than viewport sections. It also has much more line control than viewport sections.... i do a 3d section and set the line width light, and then a 2d section and set the line weight heavy, and place it on top.... works great.
  22. the hamma, if you wish to place items in one area to export, create a new design layer, and use layer link to import all of the sheets that you wish to view together... make sure that the classes are visible on those selections. once the layers are linked to the same 'design layer' they must be unlocked to move them around, but you can rotate or flip them at that point.... to export from a mac, hit command print, and go to the 'pdf' button in the bottom left corner and 'save as pdf' or export as image.... use the marque to select the area to export, and save as .jpd try that on for size best luck
  23. Robert..... I did send that info onward best regards
  24. for your information, I send all of my printing to the local blueprint shop as pdf, and have for years... works fine... also, to cut down on your file sizes, try exporting to .jpg format... mucho smaller and most print shops should handle it well.
  25. KATIE, i have run disk utility once or twice a month. I have not tried it under another user acct. I shall check it out and update you on these attempts. best regards m
