  1. These are similar experiences to mine. Have reloaded 3.1....happy camper. Among other things related to above, the Home Screen was small and blank white. Normal on startup. I know because of the number of restarts. I also did a second reload after the first uninstall. My gut feeling. I believe that Sonoma and VW's are integrated too closely. Not so much an operating System, but a Symbiotic System. This might account for the similar, but somewhat different crash/freeze experiences as each has different settings. I was bringing forward a lot of 2022 files. Better response with native 2024. Also, the AI incorporation may have a hand in this. I do love that technology though.
  2. Hi Jonathan How are things? That was a great video as usual. I am fascinated by this technology even though I will never use it. Too old now. I was going to try to play with it, but something about a cloud, select service, etc. Anyway, I can see other peoples work and admire. Aside from fun, I am impressed that VW's has adopted and implemented this so quickly. Complex rendering is hard and time consuming, this will change that.
  3. As you may not be up to speed on NURBS tools, I thought a traditional methodology would be helpful. I still wasn't sure of the type of ceiling you wanted so I made a version of both. The only NURBS tool used here is Shell. Have a look. I
  4. Yes, like always there are a number of solutions. Not really a novice thing though. The trick is to get the curves for each spoke. I think I would use the Analysis tool for this. Once you have the curves, you are good to go with a number of solutions, some already mentioned. How many spokes do you need for your starburst. Post the ceiling and your circular part. I am sure someone will post a solution. I am knocking off the night, but can look at it tomorrow.
  5. I think I know what you want to do. You want the beams to be straight, follow the roof contour, but in a radial pattern.....I think. Is that a correct statement?
  6. To add to the above directions, if you don't get the results expected, check the direction of the Curves. Select the curves, go to OIP, check on "show direction". Both curves should be in the same direction.
  7. I have gone back to V3 which was stable. I only kept V4 for an hour or so. It was clear things were not the same. I don't mind the teething process with VW's, but this was different. Things froze quickly, but after the second freeze, my new Mac Laptop rebooted....on its own.
  8. Thank you for that. I have uninstalled the newest Version. What I would really like to do is re-install Version 3.1. Is that possible?
  9. There are many ways, others will have solutions. I would simply make a cube the size of the curved panel and push it into the corner. Then I would do a "Intersect Solids". Then shell that intersection to the thickness you want. I can do a short video if you want.
  10. I have never used Cloud Service (that I know of). Not sure what you mean when you say "sign out'. Do you mean restart?
  11. I did the repair and it loaded missing files all "Darwin and Core". Did a full restart, but no change. Thanks for the help.
  12. Thanks all for the info, but I think I will let this pass. Looks like a fun and useful function. While I have VW attention. V4 is already problematic. I found 3.1 quite stable. Will probably reload that version if I can. I think this is a bug, but not sure. Has to do with the Home Screen. Paul
  13. Do you need Service Select to see AI Visualizer? Just loaded Version 4 and I don't have the Ai Visualizer option.
  14. I may be missing something, but the rotate tool is the correct tool and should be very simple regardless of what the object is. (Symbol, object, Image). I would experiment a bit and I am sure you will find the answer, but post the file if needed.
  15. Very nice work and visuals. I have been using VW to C4D since about 2000. It makes life so much easier.
  16. So often I focus on the users problem that "I don't see the forest for the trees". I imagine we all do. I was working on something and I realized this could be an EAP solution if we just reversed the curves. My "duh' moment below.
  17. Thanks for all the info. I ended up just buying an Asus 32 " flat screen. Still a huge jump over my old HP. Combined with the 16 " Laptop screen it's pretty good for my needs. I always used a combo of Laptops and iMacs and still have a 2019 iMac, i9 64GB RAM. That is still a good machine for being five years old.
  18. Hi. Well to start with, if you ungroup this file you will see it is several meshes or poly-surfaces. This changes things as far as a mesh, but may make your task easier.. So first ungroup the file. Then convert them all to 3D polygons. Ungroup the conversion, turn to a side view and Marquee select the top polygons. Hope this works out for you
  19. There are some ways. Each mesh is different. Post a file you are working with, small is good. Will have a look later.
  20. I opened your model, but the part you are concerned about was not there. Repost please. Although looking at your model, it does appear that it is not curved, but segmented, as in the walls are straight, but angled. Is that a correct statement?
  21. I never did look at your original issue. Just went back. I also see the disappearing Icons. For example. the Flyover tool icon will not appear on the screen. It remains the Arrow cursor. It still works though. Just a sign to save my work and restart VW.
  22. On a Mac, if you use the Key's Shift>Command>(the Number 5) holding them all down, you will activate the option to record your screen, part of screen or a picture, etc.
  23. Lots of great help here and knowledge on EAP. I would suggest the main reason for your problem is your project is not really an EAP solution. This is a 3D box, 3D fillet, Shell and finally split tool solution. Using the above tools, it would take under a minute to create the tube with the correct thickness. The flange at the front would be a subtract solids operation or some other. There are many ways to make this. EAP is a great tool. Essentially loft with one rail, only more accurate. As it can be used with almost anything that creates a path, it does not always respond the way you think it will. That is probably because VW's converts the path to a NURBS curve and how it does that is up to the application. So, I always start if I can with a NURBS curve.
